Trade help??
Question:i offered this trade:
i give- carlos zambrano, tom gordon, and nick markakis
i get- cole hamels and billy wagner
my other pitchers are: harang, capuano, chuck james, kip wells, daniel cabrera and my other relief pitchers are wheeler and weathers
i threw in markakis becuz he needs help in the outfield and i have matt holiday, vernon wells, and dave roberts in my outfield. so i figured that might be some incentive. so what do yall think. i requested this trade so lemme know if this is good or if this is bad and i should cancel it quick! thanks!!

Your current relievers are sketchy, but adding billy wagner is not going to help your situation. Carlos Zambrano is a better fantasy pitcher than cole hamels, and is a proven major league starter. When it comes down to it, Tom Gordon and Billy Wagner could have similar years, and I might even give the edge to Gordon as far as pure save numbers. If the Mets win games, its going to be in a blowout. Bottom line, you are giving up a guy hitting before Miguel Tejada and after Melvin Mora with a lot of potential for basically nothing in return. Lastly, do you know how old Dave Roberts is? I suggest waiting it out with Gordon, selling him at the all-star break before he wears down in the second half, hope that Brad Lidge doesn't "get it" and pray that Stormy Weathers holds up in Cincy.Was LaDainian Tomlinson the right choice for MVP for 2006... If not, who would you have selected?
Cancel!! You are getting 2 guys who are ok. One (wagner) is getting on is his years and hamels is not as good as he is hyped up to be. Zambrano is better than prolly both of those 2 together. Plus the fact that Gordon is a very good RP. So I would say cancel as quick as you can.Norwood or Dunn? For tonights game please read!?
i would cancel the trade and offer zambrano and gordon for hamels and wagner or keep the trade but make sure u can find someone in the FA to replace markakis. or u could make them add a mediocre sp because u need someif u get k-rod, i would do this trade. he is a great closer and should get 40+ saves

Never overpay for saves. It looks like you are giving too much and getting too little in return.You can always find saves on the wire if you are patient and alert. Zambrano and Coles wash and Markakis is a young OF with high upside hitting in a solid line-up.
Gordon got off to a slow start but the Phillies will be contenders this season so don't jump ship just yet

You really need saves help, so I would recommend dealing for a closer. Try dealing Harang straight up for Wagner.Like some one else had mentioned I'd hold off on dealing Markakis. He started slow last year, but ended the season very strong. And I'd much rather have him in my outfield instead of Dave Roberts.
To those who believe that Gordon is as good as Wagner you must be kidding right.
Last year-
Wagner- 40 saves, 2.24 era, 94 ks, and 1.11 whip
Gordan- 34 saves, 3.34 era, 68 ks, and 1.26 whip
Wagner was obviously the better closer. Granted Gordan did miss some playing time, but that's not the real indicator, the fact that he had an era 1 whole point higher is unsettling.
This year their stats are also comparable
Wagner- 1 save, 0.00 era, 2 ks and .67 whip
Gordan- 1 save, 6.00 era, 4 k's and 2.00 whip.
And Gordan already has one blown save . Clearly Wagner is a much better closer.
If you can get Wagner on your team you greatly improve your bullpen situation.
Think of how good your pen will be with Wagner, Gordan, Wheeler and Weathers.
