What record will the vikings have in 2007 and why?
Question:Roster?
Schedule?
Draft?
Answers:
The power of this team is obviously the rush defense. The Vikes are extremely strong in this category, and to address the first waste of time answer, better than the bears in this category. (thanks for not even grasping the question #1)
One thing people forget is the Vikes have two 1st round draft picks coming back to the Defense from injuries.(K. Udeze and C. Greenway) These guys are solid and will help shore up the holes in the D but they will still need a DE who can make solid decisions as whether to rush the QB or defend the pass.
What everyone knows is the Vikes have a giant question mark at QB. In my opinion, Jackson has a high upside potential and the Vikes may just need to bring him along. He will require time to develop and some sort of receiving staff. So, I would like to see them draft a first rounder in C. Johnson or T Ginn. Although they may go after the DE, which would also be a nice addition to the overall team.
With a solid support staff of players (WR's TE) Jackson could perform at a higher level than Brad Johnson, although thats not saying too much, except Brad was able to ride the D (as it was last year before this years returns from injuries) to victories. This makes me want to see receivers over the DE but it is a toss up.
The second round is where the Vikes can make a splash adding non-hype solid receivers (think last years M. Colston).
I have been deeply disappointed in the lack of moves this offseason with so many talented players switching teams and not hearing any rumors of the Vikings being involved. That is why the Vikes have to have a solid draft or the offseason will be a total bust.
If they make the above stated moves I can see them finishing as high as 10-6. Riding the D and scoring just enough to win. Think last years wins over the Redskins on Monday Night and Seattle on a Sunday. The score from the Seattle games looks like a blow out but remember C. taylor ran a 95 yarder and the D scored a touch as well.
I hope the loss of Mike Tomlin doesnt hurt too badly, in my opinion he should be the coach. Childress seems to be an ego maniac and making decisions with your ego is the easiest way to screw a team up.
Take the example of San Diego Manager AJ Smith, He drafted Rivers so he got rid of MVP Drew Brees and QB was San Diego's weakest position last year.
The Vikings lost some great receivers, Koren Robinson who only got a slap on the wrist for his DUI and the receiver who went to Seattle in the poison pill contract mess. Marcus Robinson is gone too and he was the Vikings only red zone threat.
If they do not draft well or Tavaris is a complete bust the record will get even worse than last year. It is a scary time to be a Vikes fan because they are either on the brink of greatness or the all too familiar let down.
2007 regular-season opponents
Home Games
Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta, Oakland, San Diego
Away games
Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Dallas, N.Y. Giants, San Francisco, Denver, Kansas City
There are at least 7 games listed there that the Vikes should win. But they did lose every game in the stretch of "easy games" last year so, who ever really knows?!
My money says the vikes will be lucky to get to the 11-5 or 10-6 area but probably will finish 9-7. Hopefully its good enough to make the playoffs.

Trade : Bobby Janks for Barry Bonds?!?
Well, they play the Bears twice, so that's two loses right there!Rate my team please and if i should drop anyone?
their schedule hasnt been released yet so i cant really predict their record.but however, they do need a QB badly and i think if the raiders take calvin johnson, then there is a chance that minny can get jamarcus russell. because my mock would look like this if oak takes CJ first barring any trades:
oak-calvin johnson
det-joe thomas
cle-brady quinn
tb-gaines adams
ari-levi brown
wsh-jamal anderson
min-jamarcus russell
2-14
What do you think of my fantasy baseball team?
