Hanley Ramiriez for Jeter and Swisher?
Question:I have Ramirez at SS.
Appearantly he really wants Ramirez, as he offered me the first time straight-up for Jeter, then comes back with this trade.
I need a LF (I traded Manny Ramirez for Miguel Cabrera, when I had no one at home) but Swisher seems kinda mediocre, and I might be able to get a better LF with my relief pitching.
The biggest question is, besides SB, which Ramirez will have more of, I can't see a HUGE downside to taking Jeter. Although the way he's gone after this trade it almost seems like he knows something about the two SSs that I dont.

Most trades that people post on here I say they shouldn't do, but this trade is a good trade for you because these to shortstops are pretty even fantasy wise. Like you said Ramirez will get you 20 more stolen bases but Jeter's batting average .343 compared to Ramirez's .291 would make Jeter just as good if not better because of that. You also have to remember Ramirez was hitting in the low .260s for a lot of last season until he caught fire. So we don't even know if he will be able to hit in the .290's again.The fact that you are getting another player to go along with Jeter would make me say get that deal done before he withdraws the trade. Swisher is a guy who hit 35 home runs last season and scored about 100 runs and drove in almost 100 RBIs. His average was .254 but put that together with a Jeter .343 and that evens out Ramirez's .291 average. So you are getting an extra 35 home runs. I think Swisher should have a huge year this season.
I would do this trade right away because this guy might have second thoughts about this trade. You are getting a steal.

U,,, YEAH!. Jeter is a better SS in general and will finish with better numbers. Secondly he is adding a good LF/ OF who can be a UTIl and a 1ber if needed. This trade is a complete and utter rip off towards this guy. Take it now before he regains his senses.Don't do that trade especially if you just got Miguel Cabrera because when Cabrera gets a good hit you'll get his rbi and prob a run from Hanley Ramirez.

If you need runs - Ramirez and Jeter should be about even. Swisher will give you more pop than either of the two. It comes down to who else is on your roster and what type of league you are playing in.Playing in a head to head league, I would make this trade in a heart beat. You give up one category (SB) to get HR and RBI (from Swisher).
Total league may be different because winning one category overall is diffferent than winning one a week.

This is a very good trade---especially if you have a need for another bat like Swisher.1. Having two starters on the same team means that they will have the same days off. If you have a daily lineup update capability this means that you need to have a SS and an OF backup to stop you from having zero stats for that day.
2. Should Ramirez or Cabrera go into a slump, that would affect the other player with fewer runs scored or fewer RBI. Having players from different lineups helps avoid this problem.
3. Jeter is a better hitter playing in a better lineup. He will have a higher batting average, more runs scored, and more RBI as the bottom of the Yankees lineup is MUCH better than the Marlins (especially with the pitcher batting immediately in front of Ramirez.

I'd take it for sure as long as you have another person to rely for on stolen bases. If you're weak in the OF you could maybe trade for a low key guy like Corey Patterson or Dave Roberts.Do the trade, you can't go wrong

I say take the trade cause Hanley Ramirez is young and probably will have a lower batting average than Jeter and will make more errors than Jeter.MAKE the trade. Swisher added 25 pounds of muscle!!!! If he is the throw in i would do it no questions asked.
