Should i trade greg maddox and veron wells for dice-k and derrick lee?

Sorry pimpjuice, that is a ridiculously bad answer.Let's compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges.
Wells to Lee. Yeah, Wells is a stud. A top-25 pick. But so is Lee. He's a top-30 pick. With the depth at both OF and 1B, you can say these guys are pretty much a wash.
Maddux to Dice-K. This is an absolute no-brainer. Dice is being drafted right around #96 in 12 and 16 team leagues. Maddux is going undrafted in 12-team leagues and about #258 in 16-team leagues.
The upgrade from Maddux to Dice is worth the extremely mild risk associated with Lee. Lee is going to give you pretty much the same stats as Wells.

this is tricky because wells is the only sure-fire player in the deal. lee looked ok after he came back from his wrist injury but may have lost a little power. wells can hit for power and average. maddux is getting old but still will probably have a solid season. dice-k MAY be good but i personally think he is very over rated. the orioles just shelled him in his last outing and though their offense has improved, tejada is about the only player to pitch aroundno i wouldnt do it because lee and dice-k could be great, but they could also be bad or injured. wells is a lock

I wouldn't hesitate.Yes, Dice-K is a wildcard, and he is facing AL batters, but it's unlikely that Greg has anywhere near as much gas in the tank. At his age, even in Petco Park, he is a huge risk for both injury and to suffer a major drop in ERA. I just don't trust senior citizens.
Wells is an excellent fantasy player, but Lee is no slouch. I don't see a huge dropoff in production there.
I normally don't advocate preseason trades, but do this.
