I believe with all of the weight he put on before the National Championship and the poor showing he had, teams were questioning how much he would work to stay in shape during the offseason in the NFL. After not doing well at OSU's pro day and the NFL Combine, teams didnt get to see many raw stats on him and therefore were hesitant to take him. Height isnt an issue, Troy is a mobile QB so he wont be spending much time in the pocket, and on top of that the average OSU lineman he passed over was 6'6, just a little shy of the NFL O-lineman average. His accuracy is average, but the only problems with that can be easily corrected with some work in the NFL. Troy Smith hasnt had any charachter issues since his sophmore year, and with a coach like Jim Tressel and the punishment that Troy was given, NFL teams have said that character issues arent a problem with Troy Smith.Can the Chargers please sign Keyshawn Johnson?

I know thier reason, he is too short. But I just dont understand. They should know that size does not matter in football. Even I know that. He is a good football player, but just because he is undersized, he is avoided, I just dont get it.What happended with Troy Smith !?
To short! The OL is usually alot bigger in the nfl, and the game is alot faster so it would be hard for him to see the whole playing field in front of him and have time to make a quik read and decision.maybe because he he preformed horrible in the bcs championship.

Smith was a fifth round pick because 1) he was not the top rated QB 2) teams drafted to fill there needs 3) teams wanted players that can step in and start and most rookie QB are long term projects 4) he has to correct a few things in his throwing motion to be a good pro QBSize. It matters in 3 places: football, basketball, and life (if you know what I mean)lol.
