No, people in the NFL make there picks off what THEY see at the combine, no what they hear about or saw in college. I bet you that not many people at all had heard about guys like Joe Thomas, Gaines Adams, or Amobi Akoye, but now they are all projected to be top 10 picks. definetley he won the heisman and is not even projected to be in the first round because he is samll and screwed up the championship game.I think he deserves to be an early first round pick, but everyone pays too much attention to one game. Troy Smith did throw over a big line and hes mobile so we know that he wont be throwing the ball from inside the pocket for the entirety of his Pro career. Smith also had a poor performance in the National Championship due to some bad judgement on his part when it came to dieting and exercise before between the Michigan and Florida game. He put on somwhere areoun 15 pounds and made the Florida D-Line look blazing fast while chasing him. But i still dont know why that game hurt his draft stock so much. Troy Smith had a stellar season at OSU and will be a huge steal for any team that picks him up. As a Diehard OSU fan im glad that they project Troy to go this low. I think that he will use it as a drive to suceed and prove people wrong. I think that he will be put on in a great position with some team and will take whatever opportunity they give him to excel. So if hes rated to go low that means he cant be OVER rated. He would have a better draft status, but maybe his refusal to do certain things asked of him in the workouts dropped him further. He could have won that game or kept it close -- but refusing to workout I think hurt quite a bit.Heisman has nothing to do with it. Think of it as the QB curse of the heisman.
