Best qb in nfl history?
who is the best qb of all time in the nfl
Answers:
What are the chances for a guy to get into the NFL?
Favre. Look at the difference in team talent that he had in a small-market team like Green Bay compared to, say, any San Francisco team in the late 80's or early 90's.Unitas doesn't work, either. He threw to one of the all-time greats, Raymond Berry.
Montana doesn't work. He threw to the greatest WR of all-time and had a HOF-caliber RB in Roger Craig.
Marino was just like Peyton Manning before this year: puts up huge numbers during the year, only to fold come playoff time.
No, Terry Bradshaw definitely doesn't. Despite the rings, the guy benefitted from the best defense the NFL has ever seen, not to mention a HOF-caliber player at every offensive position...
Namath: um...no. The only reason he's even mentioned by most is because of his mystique: whether it be a result of his nylon stockings ad or his Super Bowl guarantee...
If you're talking in terms of pure accomplishments, Montana gets my vote. But, if you're talking in terms of all-around quarterback, I gotta go with Favre.
Who are the Patriots going to draft this year.?
Joe Montana. Period. What is Ernie Erwin doing now?
Without a doubt, I'd have to say it's Joe "Super Bowl" Montana. Greatest QB ever.Broad jump, 40, vertical stats, etc.?
Warren MoonRich Gannon.
Mushin muhammed or bernarrd berrian?
Farve took a second rate team and won the super bowl. All the other great QB's won with great teams. I can throw to Jerry Rice in his prime.Has a kicker or a punter ever gone 1st in the NFL draft?
There are so many intangibles as to what makes a great qb. In his time, Unitas was the man. I personally enjoyed Montana's style and demeanor so he'd get my vote. Will New England Patriots returns to Super Bowl this season?
Joe Namath, baby. 18 point underdog, he guaranteed victory and he pulled it off. These days QBs play nice with BS like "Oh they're a great team and we have to play darn hard to beat them." Plus today's QBs are just system creatures, headsets installed in their helmets to take the next order from the guy 5 stories in the air.BROADWAY JOE RULES!!
Do you remember Darryl Stingley of the Patriots?
Joe Montania!!!Wher was thomas jones traded to??
Iron man Favre. ( holds on qb records after this season including passing yards, TDs, consecutive starts, and most wins.) not to mention he did it with mediocre recievers. with the exception of Stearling Sharp who did not play long due to injury. but that is just my opinion.Who's got the coolest nickname in the NFL?
I'd have to go with Joe Montana, Steve Young or Mike Vick if we're looking at overall talent... John Elway, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady if we're looking at who can work with their team best... i woundnt say Favre's the best but you cant overlook what he accomplishedWho is the toughest quarter back to ever play in the NFl?

Do college football players keep their stuff or not?
joe montanaSlingin' Sammy Baugh
He, along with Sid Lickman, turned the QB froma RM who passed as often as LT into the Pass first guys we know today, and was a great safety to boot.
Wow, what a bunch of yahoos here. The guys that said Unitas might have a case, but the NFL has been around a long time.
Don't take my word, watch the Three Stooges.:)
Did troy smith throw the bsc bowl game for money?
Aaron Brooks or Rex Grossman. Oh wait, you said best qb.Who was 05 on the Dallas cowboys roster? Can`t find any 05. Don`t know what year or years either.?
1. Dan Marino- Does everyone forget about the records?2. Joe Montana- even though he had Jerry Rice, he still has rings.
3.Tom Brady- Brought a mediocre receiving crew to the Super Bowl and won it 3 times!!
4.Brett Favre- Brought a decent team and won the super bowl
5.John Elway- he is the man!
John Elway
Despite his last two Super Bowl teams, nobody made more with less talent. He single-handedly won games despite weak protection, poor running games, and a conservative, irritating coach in Dan Reeves. His fourth quarter comebacks alone speak to his merit.
Nobody, not even Favre had his arm. He could throw balls 70 yards down the opposite side of the field, across his body. As an athlete, he was arguably better in baseball.
Elway won with his head, his arm, and his feet, all while pulling linebackers fingernails out of his socks. Ask Howie Long who he hated to have to chase around most.
Who was the best center the dallas cowboys ever had?
Peyton Manning cannot be touchedAre the patriots superbowl bound now with Moss on the team?
Stats and superbowl - Peyton ManningAll things considered , who is the greatest NFL running back of all time ?
Joe MontanaWho is this years Marques Colsoton?
well im hoping to get best answer with this one.I would have to go with the man Brett Favre
he has 225 consecutive starts
he has won a superbowl
he has a career QB rating of 85.0
he has a 61.1 career completion rating
he has 57500 passing yards(record)
he needs on 6 more touchdowns to hold the record for most touchdowns ever(he now has 414)
he has only had 3 seasons in which is interceptions outnumbered his touchdowns
in a long 16 years in the NFL he has amounted to all of this after not even being a 1st round pick( he was a second round sixth pick by the falcons in 1991).
He still has probably the best arm in the NFL,he still plays with heart, and he holds almost all of the records for a throwing QB,he may not have all of the superbowl rings like montana, but look at the teams montana did it with no compare that to the packer teams of the past decade and a half, favre has only had 4 losing seasons in his NFL career and yet he has never had the major name players like montana, marino, and aikman had.
come on.if all of these stats dont say hes the best QB ever, then i dont know what would
Why didn't the Vikings select a QB in the draft?
Best in the NFL right now would be Brett Favre look at the records look at the number of starts. Look at the team got those records with a sub-standard team. Next would be Tom Brady same reasons the guy is a stud! I'm sorry Peyton lovers he doesnt even make my list. Lets see this year what free agency brings to Indy if he makes it again this year I will change my toon. Until then Peyton is a less than average QB with a great team around him! What team is your early pick for Superbowl champs next year? What two teams will play?
Such a subjective question!!In the 50's it was Otto Graham & Unitas
In the 60's It was Unitas & Starr (Tarkenton has to get some mention, but he split the decades)
In the 70's it was the Snake, Namath, & Staubach[sp?]
In the 80's it was Montana, Elway & Marino (Simms deserves mention, too)
In the 90's it was Young & Aikman
In this decade, hands down, it has to be Brady, and then Peyton.
At this point, I think the future belongs to Leinart, Palmer, Manning, and (don't laugh), Alex Smith).
So many great players did not get mentioned, but I think my favorite has to be Montana, because, even though he always had good players around him, he was always the focus of the team. Also, he didn't have all the tools most of the other QB's had (e.g. great arm, the ability to take off and run. (although he did it anyway) He was a "just do it" kind of player.
Johnny U comes in #2 with me, and always dear to my heart will be Doug Williams & Lenny Dawson.
