NCAA football tournament? Tell me what you think?
Right now I think their are 11 confernces and four maybe five independants. What do you think of the idea that three conferences be dissolved and those teams join eight major conferences and forcing Notre Dame to pick a conference. Preferably the big ten. each conference has to play a conference championship game. The winners play the traditional bowl games (i.e. big 10 versus pack 10) rose bowl. The winners from those games would leave four teams that play a mini tournament for national championship. The teams that didn't win their conference could still play the rest of the bowl games. This way we could say the conference champions were playing for the title and teams from the small conferences would have an equal chance.

until somebody can prove to the college presidents that they would make more money by going to a playoff format instead of the current format nothing is going to change.also any changes won't take place until at least the 2010-11 season because thats how far the tv rights to the bcs extend

I asked a question like this before, except it would be a tournament with 32 teams, with 8 teams in each of the 4 tourney divisons. The Divisions Title games would be the Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, and Fiesta Bowl, and the winner of each game would go onto the Final Four. It would last from Thanksgiving weekend to New Years Eve.I think that your idea of Notre Dame joining the Big Ten would be good, so that people could see how overrated ND is year in and year out when they have to go up against my Buckeyes and, I hate to say it, the school up north. I think Wisconsin would even be better than ND.

I think a playoff would be a great thing for college football and would prevent what has happened the past few years. Your idea is neat. Bowl games would need to be left in because of the money and sponsorship. It’s all about the money.
