They seem to serve no purpose any more as possession always goes with feed...

It is sort of a mock one but still part of the game. Cant imagine not having scrums, even though in most cases are predetermined. Keep the scrum. AND GO THE BLUES !!Water carriers constantly on the field of play?
They do not always go with the feed, over the past couple of weeks, they have been at least 1 occassion when the opposing team got the ball. The half balf knocked it on.no they shouldnt.. they provide the backs with great opotunity to attack. although some of the feeds are pittyful

my mums friend died because of a broken scrum and another broke his neck. So yes for safety but then the game isn't as interestingThey get the forwards out of the way for a brief time, giving the backs a bit more room. Apart from that they are a waste of time.
