He reminds me of this guy I know - Wayne KerrThe sad fact is that there are always managers who are willing to overlook the extreme bad behaviour of players, and even some who will defend them with some idiotic remarks like "He's only a young man doing what all young men do", or "he is showing commitment" or "that's what make him a great player". Total rubbish! People like Barton, Bowyer, Savage, and some others need to be kicked out of the game. That will show the young, overpaid and over-feted potential hooligans that bad behaviour will not be tolerated.
But that will never happen! While we have managers who retain the bad boys, and defend the cheaters (only the cheaters in their own teams, mind you. They whinge endlessly about cheats in the opposing team) Cheats and divers like Ronaldo, absolutely KNOW that they will not be castigated by their managers. Cheating and bad behaviour should be punished with suspension, without pay, and with a ban on negotiating with or moving to another club for at least one year after the incident. If a player is found guilty of any offence, like missing a drug test the way Ferdinand did some years ago, and is suspended, the club should not be allowed to pay him while he is on suspension. NO games and NO money, otherwise the punishment is only half-hearted!

I havent heard about the lit cigar thingy with Joey Barton, but I do remember that he pulled his shorts down and got away with it. I think nowadays, too many players are thinking that they are above their own clubs and the law, but its only a few footballers who ruin it for the decent hard working ones.
BlueMoon: Rio Ferdinand did not get done for taking drugs, he was banned because he failed to show up to the drugs test. No one was done for gambling, it was just reported that it was, and it was England stars not just Man United ones! As for Eric Cantona, the Crystal Palace fans provoked him, and had been goading him all match, but he was out of order to do the Kung Fu Kick!
