Why do the European Professional Football leagues not have a draft to select new young talent?
If its beneficial not to have a draft in European soccer then maybe American sports should follow suit and all college players should become fair game.
Answers:
A player is developed in a teams youth system as they work their way up to the senior level.
I believe once a player is 16, they are fair game to play on the senior squad.really good talent come out at 17-19.
Most South American teams have very deep youth systems in hopes to bring new talent to play on their squad and then be sold for millions to other South American or European teams.
great example is Real Madrid's purchase of Higuian and Gago from Argentina (one River plate and the other from Boca)...
Check out this film below about a Brazlian kid trying out to make the Flamengo (Brazilian professional club) team.
What does the center half do in football, and where does he typically play on the pitch?
I can't really answer as I have no idea what a 'draft' isassuming you mean players recruited from colleges, in Europe they would have signed up by a professional club many years before they got to that age so there would be no point
I need a wonderkid or sum worldclass players on Football Manager 2007?
they have youth programs were they work thier way up to the first team thats why thier are no drafts.Manchester united fans..who do you think was the best player against Tottenham?
In the US, players get drafted from their high school or college. In Europe, players don't play for a school team, instead they play for local clubs. If they are discovered by a talant scout, they can move up to a better club.I think that because the traditions are very different, it would be difficult to implement the European scouting system in the US.
