They used to be OK (apart from their knuckle dragging supporters) but they're going to get relegated again this season.

they are a premiership club.the fact they are doing so badly must have a root cause in the youth structure, one might think.
all the top clubs have fabulous youth sections.
i am hoping they stay up somehow as it is an embarrassment to all of us who remember the glory days, even tho i do not support them.

Did a lot of big signings hoping to win the champions league and that would bankroll the club. Unfortunately they lost in the semi finals and one by one all the top quality players went to other clubs until thjey were left with kids and old pros they signed from other clubs. They keep sacking managers and now no decent playewr wants to go thwere. They are still bancrupt but somehow still in business. No Im not a fan but from Leeds now living in scotland. I'm a rugby league fan following the Leeds Rhinos. Do you recall Lee Chapman missing an open goal on match of the day and telling the commentator afterwards that it bobbled on a piece that had been churned up by the Hunslet rugby league players who played there then? What rubbish the pitch was perfect and rugby league was not played at that time. At least they will have the best ground in the first division and ultimately theconference. I wonder why they don't join the scottish leagues..they could be in the premier league up there but not in England. The glory days have gone along with their thuggish supporters.
leeds 'dominance' in the premier league as a title contender came to an abrupt end as players were not comfortable hence their performance. their relegation didn't help either as top players scattered to different clubs eg. harry, harte, viduka, woodgate etc...their current last place in the championship is not helping. i am not sure what da --------happened to them but it is sad from 'riches to rags'

Look, the management upstairs made a huge gamble in early 90s. They financed the expensive buys e.g ferdinand, robbie keane, fowler on the back of future league+champions leauge success. Remember the year that they were in the champions league semi final?Once that dry up for a year, they simply don't have enough $$ to even pay the wages.
Any club manage their money like that while not having steady income (merchandising+group tickets) had to be bankruppted.
If they went bankrupt, they probably has a much better balance than now. But that was not the case, hence they would be in deep finance trouble for a long long time.
Also factoring in the fact that ITV pulled out for the lower leagues, hence way less money for anyone who's not on the premier league.

When they got relegated they sold their best players to teams in the Premiership. I.E. Mark Viduka to Middlesbrough, Harry Kewell to Liverpool and Alan Smith to Manchester United.What number will Larsson be using at Utd?

I think Leeds have one big problem and that's the management.To be successful starts from the management which is why in if a team doesn't deliver positive result they decide to buy new players and if still not it's the coach who goes.
