Nope, I´m from Cape Town and spent the last few years trying to get out the country and start a life with my wife in Spain.There is no chance that I will be in South Africa during that time period to pay over inflated prices and be a target for criminals.
South Africa is in a crime plague with crime continuing to rise but crime statistics falling (due to government doctoring) ahead of the Wcup.
Cape Town is on par with Johannesburg and in the last year they are actually the crime capital of South Africa.
The government is doing zero about crime and in fact denies that it is a problem.

If you do decide to go, please do a lot of research beforehand and speak to as many South Africans as possible about how to keep safe on your holiday.
Anyone who denies that crime is not a problem in S.A. or says you should only behave like you should in other big cities around the world does not have your best interests at heart.
I would like to but all European media that I read (not much soccer media in USA) says that South Africa is very dangerous.
French and Italian magazines say that Johannesburg is not worth it. Spain said that too.
English (and even the little American soccer media) says that Cape Town would be a safe place to go. Are English and American media correct?
