Strange 'straight' behaviour please explain...?
Question:As part of my work on male gender and sexuality with straight men, when I brought up the issue of man's sexual need for men with young unmarried men, who had not yet 'established' their manhood (since they'd not reproduced as yet)... they were extremely open to the idea and say they all have such feelings. They refused to label men who had sex with men as 'homosexual' even if it was exclusive (since homosexual in my society means a non-man, a transgendered, a *** (i.e. one who takes in anally/ orally). Of course they also make advances towards me.... that's the done thing.
But when I raised the issue with married men, some of them (though they're a minority, others just remain silent) would say all kinds of derogatory things about male-male sexual need.. even call them 'homosexuals' ( a great term of abuse in our society) but still make advances towards you.
What's the deal here?

Those men are afraid to be who they are because that society suppresses the acceptability of being gay. so all those men in India that want to have sex with other men still want to be called straight... and they do so by making the distinction between being the one on the receiving end (the homo) and the one doing the pushing at the other end... let's call it the "pseudo straight" or "Indian Straight" or Bent Straight" guy.Thank heavens in the West, we are more accepting of Homosexual behavior these days so we don't have to create genders within genders. How absurd.
It is obviously OK to be gay in India... so long as you are the giver and not the receiver... and they call that "straight". Go figure.
