Is Cheerleading bad for you?
I am a cheerleader for a high school varsity team. I am always having problems with my hips, knees, back, and neck. Could cheerleading be the problem and should I try a different sport?

No, it might be a slight flexibility problem. Either take gymnastics or(if you are a base for a pyramid) ask your coach if you can stop being a base and do something else. Check to make sure you and your squad are doing cheers and stunts safely. You can definitely hurt yourself if you do things incorrectly. Don't let someone stand on your shoulders, etc. unless they really know what they are doing. If done correctly cheerleading is a fun, safe sport.More Questions & Answers...
