Skateboard bearing problem.?

I have Bones Reds bearings, and the one broke. The red protector piece was the first to go, and then the plastic bearing holder went. However, the metal outter ring is still stuck inside my wheels. I got new bearings, but I can't get the old broken metal ring out. Anybody know how to get it out without damaging the wheel?
