How does a golfer join "the Tour"?
I was watching the LPGA Open and they said that one of the amateur golfers would be joining the tour later this summer. I assume this means they'd be turning pro. But, I thought you had to go through Q school to get your tour card. Can someone clarify??

Each tournament has sponsor exemptions. They are limited and they can give them out to whomever they please.Tiger Woods started this way. He won enough money with sponsor exemptions that he qualified for the PGA Tour for the next year.
Never looked back.
Likely that the Am has some of these lined up.
