I have one of those black finish wedges made by Taylor Made?

anyways I haven't taken very good care of it and I cleaned it with soap and water and dried it right away, but now it is tuning brown. What can I do? How do I take better care of it?

The Black Wedges are considered "Raw" wedges and have a finish that wears off as you use them. The brown color is from oxidation and rust of the metal. It is supposed to do this and is almost impossible to prevent. If you really can't stand it you can either get a new wedges, or use a product like CLR to clean the rust off. At least 50% of the guys on tour are still using the Raw wedges, so they definitely aren't bad.

Some guys rust their wedges on purpose to get more spin.

But if you really have a problem with rust, polish it with Brasso or AutoSol. It will definately remove the rust and prevent it from rusting for a while.

But rust will eventually set in again if you stop polishing it.
Maybe u can consider a satin or chrome finish wedge on your next wedge.

I know guys who look for wedges just like yours to buy, since they actually want that rust for better grip on the ball. I've got an old Cleveland 60deg thats rusty a bit. If you don't like the look of it, consider whether it's helping your pitch shots first before getting rid of it. Who cares what it looks like if it gets you close to the hole.
