Practice practice I had to do that a lot in gymnastics.stance...you may be standing 'behind' the ball too much
try moving a few inches having the right foot aligned to the ball...adjust to see the difference
I have a real old Nike one golf ball.Looks to be 25 or so years old.It has a liquid center.Any info?
close the face of your club a little more by rolling your right hand over. Also make sure your elbow is not "flying out" during your swing.Just a few things that have helped me.
How has Tiger Woods changed the game of golf?
One of the most common mistakes people make that cause a slice is that you lift your head too quickly to watch the ball in flight. When you lift your head and turn it towards down field, your front shoulder tends to "open up" which causes your stance to open up. The down-swing of the club is still the same. However, the club-head will not travel through a straight path through the ball. Instead, the club face will travel from outside in causing slice.Try keeping your head more still during your swing. This will prevent your shoulders from opening.

Some of the above reasons won't fix your slice.regardless of the ball being forward in your stance, back in your stance etc...you'll still end up slicing the ball...You are coming over the top.On your down swing your club is coming from the outside to the inside.creating spin on your ball, therefore a slice. If you have a video camera, set it up behind you while you hit balls.video tape yourself as you hit now...watch it. Start concentrating on bringing the club a little from the inside to out. It's very difficult to correct something you do naturally like that and it will take time. But then video yourself again to watch the improvements.
Positioning the ball of the back, front foot; strong, weak grip, etc.these things play a part, yes...but it's your swing flaw that is the problem...best of luck!
EDIT: Don't listen to Richards reply below... an open club face will result in a push to the right. Your outside to in is producing the side spin that causes your slice. An open club face with an outside to in swing path will cause a push with a slice on top of that... Richard, you are going against simple golf physics with your advice bro... Don't be confusing.
Its a matter of physics...the club face must be square with the ball when you make contact. to better square your contact, pick a spot about 6 inches in front of the ball, short(3/4) back swing, swing easy and try to extend the club face through the ball and then through the spot in front of the ball. my biggest improvement came when i learned how to relax my arms...not stiff as i swing the club. first learn how to make square, solid contact...then worry about distance. think of the swing this way... from the top of the back swing, its an arc coming down, then a straight line through the ball toward the target until the arms are completely extended forward, then the arms pull the club back over your left shoulder...its not like a baseball swing!
How many clubs are you allowed to have in a golf tournament?
forget about the outside-inside swing path, flying elbows, stance etc... if you have a very bad slice, your hands are extremely open leaving the clubface angled well right of the target. you need to stop rolling your hands open to keep the hands square to the target line. practice swinging without rolling your arms. also, make sure you are making a full shoulder turn. sometimes people roll their arms over at the top of the backswing by over strectching with their arms rather than rotating their shoulders. What is the bounce angle of cleveland 900 56 degree wedge?
You get rid of a slice by getting lessons from a pro and not asking people on a website.I heard Tiger Woods won't sign golf balls. Why?
If your slice is as basd as you say then you are doing more than a few things wrong. along with what everyone else is saying about your swing path, remember that a slice is caused by the club face not being square at impact. your hands need to be unhinging on the downswing and swinging through the ball. Often refered to as releasing the club.Should golfers be considered athletes?
I agree with Tiger. Use the video camera. You always hear about how coming over the top is the number one flaw of amateur golfers, but you dont always realize that you are doing it if you cant see yourself swing. When you video try to do this. When you address the ball, you should draw a line from the ball through the clubhead. This line should go through your lower back. When you are at the top of your swing, draw another line from the butt of your club to the ball. Your downswing should be in between these two lines. While you're at it, you can check if your club is coming past parallel or across the line. Good luck.
What is the difference between a "cadet" golf glove and a "regular" one?
take some lessons. You are dominating the swing with your right arm and coming over the top with the club face open, which causes a big slice. Slow down your swing and try to pull the club through with you left arm. This should straighten it out a little bit. Go to your local pga professional.Take a lesson and buy a new Jeep Comander

Go to the range and set up facing backwards to the target line. Hit a few shots toward the target. (Yes it can be done.) Slowly turn a few degrees and continue hitting. As soon as you reach a position that you start to slice, go back a little until you reach a position with your stance that you no longer slice. Works every time.Happy hooking!!

Sorry, Richard your an idiot in the biggest way, get lessons man, I play on tour so I KNOW my friend. You do roll your hands and fore-arms it is part of your power, it is that and the hips starting your downswing after the upswing WIND that gives you power. I agree with Tiger 223, you are at least going the right direction with your advise, I could add to your advise Tiger but I am making another point, it is better to have no advise out there than one bad one, people of the old days watched others and learned from good they saw in each, worked for Hogan, Now, Rich or Dick, when you roll your hands, and by the way you NEVER feel your hands, always your shoulders and FORE-arms, anyway, when you feel this sensation Dick of turning your HANDs over it is bad for you because your swing is in all the obviously improper positions. Sorry to all for me being rude but this is EXACTLY why I make so much and why NOBODY in 50 years has improved from stats. I think we are worse off than years ago because of technology to have idiots like Dick on the web giving advise, think of the people at the range he has confused, there are probably clubs at the lake where he golfs from some poor guy who took his advise and said tho hell with it. We loose 2 million players every 5 years and gain the same, Dick and all his useless friends are why, if you do not know the answer to a question don't F#$%^& answer it you moron! And with your lack of release Dick from your Hands as you call it you are loosing 25% of your swing power, so obviously youy are not winding either because if you were you would naturally want to release your fore-arms and hands as you say, so hey when you hit your driver 190 yards don't give advise please. And don't write back you hit it farther because with your advise idiot you will make yourself look worse, you will not just be an idiot, you will be a liar as well.More Questions & Answers...
