Im struggling keeping my left arm straight when i bring my swing back+feel v.stiff.any tips?(am beginner!)?
Question:I've had 2 lessons with a pro and am getting through 2-300 balls a week on the range practising. have got my 3rd lesson booked and have been using a 6 and 7 iron.am getting frustrated as i seem to start off ok, but then lose it before my next lesson.
I feel very stiff and awkward and cant seem to get my swing back far enough and when I concentrate on that+keeping my arm straight, it all goes to pot.I have hit some belters, 100-150 yards and know when ive hit it right but cant pinpoint what i've done differently!.its driving me mad!

Flexibility will help you turn without bending your arm to get a full swing. I wouldn't worry about it too much if it's a small bend. If it's a significant bend, then you need to work on your flexibility to get a full turn. Hamstrings, abs, back, lats, shoulder (i.e. everything). I've been working with a flexibility program for about a year now. When I'm using it, I score well. When I don't... I don't score well and the ball goes everywhere.Anyone have a good opinion on lob wedges?
One thing that may be happening to cause the feeling like you aren't coming back far enough is your hip turn....or lack there of.Your arms can only go so far back in your swing and stay straight at the same time. You need a good hip turn as well to generate a nice full backswing.

make sure you're are strecthing before hitting. work on rotating and turning your back. also, don't hit 150 balls in a row. hit 10-20, take a break for a few minutes. hit another set. If you get tired, you'll develop poor habits as well as muscles will start to tighten up. after you hit one, step away and behind the tee. set a ball on the tee and step up to address it. check your target alignment (accuracy is as important as length)More Questions & Answers...
