Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, John Elway, Gordie Howe, Jerry Rice, Oscar Delahoya, Mia Hamm, Brandi Chastain,Corey Nakatani , Tom Brady, Joe Morgan...and dozens of others...some of the top athletes of all times from different sports disciplines (as well as many world renowned entertainers and millionaires( such as Samuel Jackson, Dennis quaid, Donald trump, Andy Garcia, tea leoni, jack nicholson, Hugh grant and many others)...have all been playing the game since before retiring from their respective sports...and play at every opportunity...it is a difficult game to play, to play it at a high level for a prolonged period of time is rare, most that dont have a high opinion of the game have never played it, arent good at it, or dont challenge themselves at anything enough to get proficient...usually quitters... its been played hundreds of years, unlike games/sports that were invented only recently(last hundred years or so) and are designed only to entertain couch sitters...or fat reality tv fans...Why is it garbage? you must not play golf or just aren't very good!

It has an amazing history - I'm Scottish, I would say that - and is fantastic fun to play, especially here in its native home.What I fear you hate about golf is the industry that has grown up around it: full of snobbery, middle-class, white, male businessmen, etc.

I hope you always stay in top physical condition so that you can play REAL SPORTS, as you put it! Golf is a real sport too , but in saying that I really mean that first sentence and not in a mean way either! I play golf on a Tues morning ladies league, so most of the women are retired. My favorite person to play golf with and have as a partner, is my 82 year old neighbor! The whole league has many girls 65+ I'm a younger one in my late 50's. These gals beat me every week or are darn close to doing so! Most would be home sitting in a chair or worse under ground if it weren't for this sport they enjoy! They can't be out shooting hoops or playing football, but this friend never misses any of these games on TV either. A good thing to remember is never be too critical until you've walked in their shoes! Thank Goodness for all sports and all those that love to play or watch or both------NO MATTER WHAT IT IS!
