Here's an easy way to remember club length procedures -if you incurred a penalty - 2 club lengths
if you did not incur a penalty - 1 club length
...and it's always the longest club in your bag...
So - cart paths, ground under repair, wrong putting green, staked trees, man made obstructions etc... you don't incur a penalty = one club length.
Hazards, unplayable lies, etc... you do incur a penalty = two club lengths.
Out of bounds, lost ball = hit your shot from the last location.
apply as necessary.
good luck and happy golfing.
Taylor Made R7 Vs Callaway X-20 Irons?
Cart path= one club length, giving you stance, lie, and swing. No nearer the hole and at the closest point of relief. Doesn't have to be on the line from the hole or anything.Hazards are different depending on if they are a lateral hazard or not. There are different angles you can take with a lateral hazard. However, hazards are typically two club lengths from the edge of the hazard line no nearer the hole and along the same line that it entered the hazard.
Go to USGA.org for the specifics on the difference in relief between all hazards.
I don't know what "droping" means, and I don't know what "weinght" is. Are these golf terms?

from the cart path you get one club length no close to the hole. Thats from where you take a stance and are completly free of the cart path. You have to take complete relief, which that means if you drop the ball and it rolls a little bit and you get the most perfect lie, but you are standing on the cart path, you have to redrop, as it still comes into play. For hazards you take 2 club lengths no closer to the hole.
