Dunlop Phoenix Golf - Dates? Where are scores posted?

Starting with a beginner set is a good idea. You can also pick up used sets from various places. If you can try to get a lesson and practice some before making a purchase. Learning how to swing the club allows you to try them out before purchasing.

After you have played for some time then you can look into buying clubs for your height.

As a new yahoo user can you please advise me on how to send an email?

Buy from a golf store, not WalMart. A Golf store, or the pro shop at your golf course, will fit the clubs to you. It's the very most important part of their service

Are there discount prices for dublin, oh residents for the memorial golf tourney at muirfield?

As a beginner you should start with a basic set like one from a Walmart or such store. This would allow you to find out if you enjoy the game enough to go through the cost of purchasing a set made for you. This you would need to see a golf smith for.

Is the taylormade r7 superquad golf club legal?

Find a competent club fitter.this could be a good teaching pro at a local course, or a specialist at a golf store, like Golfsmith or Edwin Watts.height and weight are just a couple of variables-more important are the angle at which the irons lie, due to arm length or posture; shaft flex; grip size; and clubhead design. Just because you are a beginner.you might be a "natural", and clubs for a true "beginner" would hamper you...good luck!

How do you go about making varsity on the golf team?

I think you can order custom fit, like Ping G2 or G5, they can order custom fit .They have something like lie angle or long and short shafts.

Best pro golfer past or present?

go to Golfsmith. They have everything and their salesmen are the most knowledgable. Personally, I like the Nike Slingshot Irons because they have a little more weight and they hit the ball further. It is almost like hitting hybrids.

What is an average score on a par 70 for a player who plays 10-15 times a year?

beginner set, standard length and lie. I'm 6'2 and use half inch over standard for my length. get a set with graphite shafts. since you're new, steel shafts won't do you any good. try regular flex shafts. cavity back irons preferably unless you can find a hybrid set for cheap. look into hybrid long irons and and stay away from 2 and 3 irons. I'd suggest something relatively cheap for now. not walmart cheap but something around 170-200 dollars. no need in getting fitted for a set just yet, that'll come later.

Looking for a golf pro near Ventura,CA. Want to shoot 90 in 6 months, playing twice a week.?

I would skip the clubs that cost hundreds of dollars... at first. Second hand sport stores can have a lot of good sets at resonable price. The average set of clubs would proboly be just as good as the custom fitted clubs for the average golfer. Most men's sets at any big sporting good store are made for the average height, average swing speed for a guy. I would think that most of the clubs there would fit you just fine. The only place length of a club would matter is in the putter, but that just what feels the best to you. Once you start breaking 80 with that set and you really feel that golf is your calling, then get the custom fitted golf clubs.
I guess other tips would be: for shaft flex a regular flex, and I would make sure to test hit these clubs (you can usually do that at the store) to make sure you like the feel. Drivers also come in a variety of degrees 9, 10, 11, test each one out and see which one has the best loft for you, not to high not to low. It's easiest to do it if they have a golf simulator at the store, or a range. Ask them if you can take the club out for the day, usually they'll just hold a credit card till you bring it back.
Also for a beginner golf woods are usually easier to hit than irons. I would tend to get more woods 1, 3, 5, 7, (9) woods or the new hybrid woods instead of low lofted irons 2 or 3, which can be pretty tricky to hit.
Good Luck

Whos better right now...Heft Lefty or Tiger Woods?

I would go to someplace like Golfsmith and get tested and fitted.
