Is using tee a good idea?
I am beginner and I use tee on every hole on a par-3 course. My friends hardly use them and they prefer to play from the grass. Will it hurt my game in the long run if i play on the longer courses?? I was told that tee should only be used for a driver.

When teeing up for a iron shot, only tee the ball up about 1/4" or so - just enough to get it off the ground. I usually use a broken tee I found next to the tee box for this.
Remember on your irons, trust the loft of the club and hit down on the back of the ball - don't try to sweep them - and you'll get a nice crisp shot that starts out low and rises with backspin.

A tee is only used for the first shot on each whole. Its purpose is to clear the ball from the ground so that your swing will not be slowed by contact with the ground.Caddy in DESPERATE need of help!?

Using the tee (for me atleast) is better for me. It helps get under the ball better and get more distance. But really its up to you if you want to use the tee on every shot. Just remember to tee it lower when using an iron.What religion does tiger woods practice?

I've been playing golf for 15 years (played in college too) and I have always used a tee when I tee off (regardless what club I'm using).If you are a beginner, I'd suggest you go ahead and use the tee. It doesn't hurt anyone. If anything, it'll help you get better contact with the ball :)

I agree, Beginners should use tees any chance they can. The only time I use a tee is when I am hitting a driver or 3-wood off the tee box. I never tee up my irons. I get a straighter ball flight with no tee. But that's just me.More Questions & Answers...
