What are some good contests for a golf scramble?
I have organized a scramble for my colleagues ... and so far I have 1) best team score 2) Longest drive on the first hole, 3) closest to the pin on a par 3 (ALL STANDARDS)...then I added 4) Worst score on a hole 5) Worst golf shoes. Can anyone creative give me some ideas for prizes?
Answers:
Besides the 'standards' (Closest to pin on a Par 3 - Longest Drive on Par 5), I'd suggest:
* If the course in question has a 'reachable' par 4 - (320yds or less would be ideal) then give out a prize for anyone who can drive the green
* If the course in question has 4 par 5's, then give out a prize to the golfer(s) who reached the green in 2 and/or 'eagled' the most par 5's
* Take one par 5 - and on that specific hole, every team plays 'alternate shot'; The team(s) with the lowest combined score, win a prize.
Example:
* Player 1 tees's off
* Player 2 attempts to go for the green in two
* Player 3 then follows up by either getting player 2's shot on the green, or putts for eagle
* Player 4, if necessary, would then putt for birdie
* Player 1, if necessary, would then putt for par
* Player 2, if necessary, would then putt for bogie
* Give out a prize for the most 'sand saves'
* Give out a prize to the team(s), on a designated hole, with the fewest putts.

Longest putt made on a designated hole. It must be from the putting green. Leave a tape measure.I recently posted a completely made up question...why the anger?
I use a few others.1) closest to the pin in two (on a par 4).
2) straightest drive. (the course can paint a line down the middle)
prizes:
1) an hour golf lesson with the pro
2) ANYTHING Golf and people will be happy
3) solicit local restaurants and see if they will donate, or sell you cheaper, dinner packages.
