A lot of people don't know the story of his first win after the 1991 PGA Championship. A spectator was hit by lighting and killed. John donated a portion of his winning paycheck to the family. The man's wife invested the money and both girls of the man used the funds to attend college. There was a special on TV that showed John meeting with the girls. It was very touching. He didn't have to do that, but he did, and as many people didn't know about it, it obviously wasn't done for publicity. Yes, he's had his ups and downs in his personal life, but this particular story says a lot about his character.Michelle Wie never seems to win. What's the big deal about Michelle Wie?

I admire how John Daly has dealt with his ups and downs (most of which are caused by his own actions), and he somehow always gets us to cheer for him.He is also a very good interview, and doesn't sugar coat his actions with excuses.

how is "good enough to compete" good enough for a two-time major winner? we all love jd, obviously, but he's got all of tiger's talent, and none of his focus, and he's copping out of being a phenonenol athelete. i hope to see him make the next ryder cup and write one of the greatest last chapters in golf history. all of us slack - i know i do - but jd owes golf and himself a couple years of focus. i think he can still win a masters, too.More Questions & Answers...
