Is the NHL Schedule Maker Kidding? Or is Yahoo wrong?
I whole-heartedly agree with you. While I don't think this should be the norm in the NHL, I think three or four of these in a year would definitely help out the league. Any more, and kids playing hockey will start thinking this is okay and the sport will revert back to the way it was back in the 70s and 80s: a barbaric one.To the first answer: Oh, please, Emery used to be an amateur boxer. He doesn't need backing up. Did you see the smile on his face? Priceless...
Also, Andrew Peters is NOT a tough guy. Tough guys wins fights. Granted, I haven't seen every fight of his, but every time this guy get into a scrap in the highlight reels, he loses and loses big time. I doubt that he can even take on a guy like Mike Johnson.
And it was a clean hit on Drury.. The only problem was, Neil's what, 6'1"-6'2", and Drury's 5'9"-5'10ish"? Of course Neil's shoulder's going to hit Drury in the head. Hell, his helmet wasn't even done up properly or else it wouldn't go flying off his head like that. If the Sabres are going to cry and moan, at least make it clear that it's about a hit on their star player and captain, and NOT about some phantom dirty hit.
Who are you betting on for winning the stanely cup?
Yes, I agree. I don't think Ottawa has a clue though. Did you notice how no one came to Ray Emery's defense when he had to fight w/Peter's after spanking Biron? Major pansies when you don't back up your goalie.Im entering a hockey pool i need to no wat to put in in?
Totally agree! When Drury went down Neil should've known what his fat as.s was in for.Who will play Nashville in the Finals?
i don't agree, bc all it does is put another player at risk of a major injury. drury was already hurt (and he is now out for probably a week or longer), and i'm sure that his team wanted revenge. but the only revenge needed was the victory. fights, especially like that one, are just dangerous and embarrssing. you may have enjoyed the fight, but what if biron had fallen and busted his head on the ice? or what if the league passes down a major suspension to any of your on-ice players? the risks are not worth the possible fall out. oh, and watch the replay, it wasn't even that cheap of a hit. it looked accidental to me.I'm looking for a white Cam Neely Jersey, size XXL.?
When a dummy player like Neil gets away with what he did, because the officials are too dumb, then you have to take matters into your own hands.Who do you think will win the NHL All-Star Game and who do you want to win?
Thats why i watch hockeyFights and The Penguins
How is it possible for the wings to choke every single year?
If it is necessary then I say, "go for it." I do not feel that it should have come to that in the Sabres/Senators game. It did and yes it was entertaining. What percentage of NHL players are from outside of America?
YOU NEED THAT IN HOCKEYI think it was totally unneeded. I think Ruff needs to be supended from this game(rematch) for STARTING IT. He put the fourth line out there to GET A FIGHT going. I hope the players were threatened with suspension if that crap happens again tonight. Now all that said I'm all for a fight like that happening if it is the PLAYERS doing it. I am fine with players who fight, because they know the reason for fighting. Just a brawl because the coach started the crap like that is WRONG.
Should I do my week's worth of dishes now or while I watch the Flames clinch a playoff spot tonight?
I don't think it should become a normal thing. that's what makes an all out brawl so awesome... it happens 2-3 times a season, and it's a nice little treat.Who has won it all in ice hockey?
Sure :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emlnuv7hz...What is a restricded free agent in hockey?
yesYou can blame the refs for being so blind. If they don't call obvious penalties, then you have to take the law into your own hands.
How do you sens fans like that 1-0 lead my pens have?
Two eight i think you are slightly retarted.Okay lets say andrew peters ins't a tough guy. Then that means when he got his head dnted by peters must be a real weak fighter.
If anything you should say he is a good fighter and then emery would not look as stupid as you just made him sound.
Does Wayne Gretzky have dual citizenship?
i deffinately agree wut did murray think was gonna happen after he takes out our co-captain (any one on the team actually). i am so proud of the sabres especially marty, he knew emery could take him and had him by like 40 lbs. but biron still went out there after him. it was great. i was at that game and the place was nuts it reminded me of back when rob ray used to play.Has anyone ever heard of the cinncinnati cyclones?
Yes is OK. Hockey has a nitch, all sports have one, Baseball has its managers kicking dirt on the umps shoes, Football has the end zone dances basketball has the big slam dunks, these all help sell their sport. Hockey's nitch is fighting which is governed by its unwritten rules. If a star player in baseball is beamed by a pitch intended to hit him a brawl might break out as well. Fighting and brawls have always been a part of hockey and it always will. The reason why teams dress enforcers is to prevent there teammates from being ran, Peters did what he was paid to do.If a player is going to clean another players clock it is expected his teammates will be pissed and seek revenge. I think several things can go to help these situations. 1. the officiating has to be better both teams must feel at the end of a game that the referees didn't hamper their chance to win. 2. The fight has to be contained as to not leave the ice surface. A known enforcer should of never got to throw punches at a fully dressed goalie he could of done some serious damage to a guy who has already fought.3 The NHL (Formerly known as the No Hit League ) needs to protect heads/ faces better to many head injuries, eye, face and neck injuries. The helmets in big hits seem to pop off way to often allowing a players head to strike the ice.
