Phil is a young guy so it was shocking, but he had the support of his team and family. They actually kept it under wraps until the treatment was over. Certainly wishing him all the best!Phil Kessel is not the first NHL player either. Mario L. had it and I saw Koivu mentioned here as well.

It's only 'sad' that life dumped this unnecessary affliction on him.I hope he remains free of the cancer, (he and saku koivu, and mario lemieux and everyone else that isn't in the NHL).
