Why does toronto suck so bad?

There are many reasons the Laffs suck so much for 40 years.

1. Greedy ownership- Last few years, there has been a salary cap, but for the more tham 3 decades before that, the Laffs were generating more revenue than any other NHL team, due to their idiot fans buying all sorts of their crap, being unable to see through their very thick blinders. They cannot see that they pay more for their tickets than any other NHL franchise, to watch a loser team choke year after year after year. The owners of the Laffs saw that their fans were idiots and didn't even give a valient effort to try to build a stanley cup contender. Instead of pursuing marquee free agents, they just pocketed the money, knowing the morons would always be back emptying their pockets to watch and support an inferior product as they done for many many many years.

2. Idiot fans and media- This ties a little bit into my first point, but there is another aspect to it also. The Toronto media and fans fail to understand the concept of "building" a winning team. They wearing so thick blinders that a lot of them pick the Laffs to win the Cup EVERY SINGLE YEAR! In fact, just last week, one of those morons told me he likes the Laffs chances against ANYONE against the eastern conference! ? Need I remind him how they got raped up the *** by NYR 2 games ago? Not to mention the loss to NYI, that would have given them control of their own destiny had they won? The point is the fans and media consider the Laffs to be a contender no matter how much they suck. Thats why rebuilding is out of the question for them. They just pressure the management to get more and more useless free agents (Kubina) or trade away more of their bleak future (Rask). Everyone with half a brain knows that the this version of the Laffs will never contend for a Cup. They have no goaltending, their best players will be gone in about 5 years time, and simply put, they've overachieved this year. So why not trade Sundin and Tucker and get some high draft picks and prospects for the future? It will help the team long term, and maybe help them build a team that will contend for the Cup. But no, the outcry and rage for taking a few years to build a team will not permit the Laffs management to consider the idea. Just the idea of trading Sundin gets people jumping off bridges in Toronto, like he's Gretzky who has won all sorts of cups and awards. Because of this the Laffs finish 9th year after year, missing the playoffs and also missing out on a high first round pick.

3. Misperception- The last reason why the Laffs suck so bad is simply because of all the publicity they get. It gives people the idea that because they get talked about so much and shown on tv so much, they must be a really special team. But in reality, they are just a crappy franchise stuck in the media capital of Canada. CBC absolutely MUST show them on HNIC, even though they lay an egg on national TV time and time again. We all have to bear with all the Laffs games on TV even though there are two better canadian teams int he east, and probably 3 better in the west, had the Oilers not run into bad luck with Chris Pronger. How is it that a loser choker team who hasn't been to the cup final in 40 years get way more national tv time then 4 other canadian teams have all contended or won a cup recently, and the Sens who have consistently finished in the top 4 in the East for the last few years? Don't be fooled by the all the publicity the Laffs get folks; they are nothing special, just a loser franchise that appeals to all the suits out there, because it's in Toronto.

It starts with the GM, then it works its way down to the Coach!! I'm a big Toronto fan and I live in Detroit. Grant it I like My Wings better, but the Blue Coats are number 2 on my list. We have the same problem here in Detroit with our Football team as Toronto does with there hockey team. Except in Detroit it's not the Coach's, that's just the Office's Escape route! What they really need to is to Bring Scotty Bowmann out of Retirement and sign him. Get "The Cat" Potvin back in net, and tell Domi that the Habs gang banged his mom and then the Good Ol' Maple Leafs that we know and Love would be back to normal again!

By the way.some how...I don't know how.but some how..The Leafs will pull a Win out of there * against the Habs Today!!
