8 over 1 upset?
Question:everyone is thinkin the flames could upset the wings, but has anyone considered the isles? the way they played tonight and with DP healthy, they are a threat.

I don't see it happening. Buffalo will take them more seriously now. Watch out! Buff is a much better club. Islanders are getting better though. I expect them to get better and better over the next few years with Nolan behind the bench and a more conservative youth approach from managment. NYI over Buff, it's a pipe dream this year. Unfortunetly the Redwings are just to good this season. The Flames will not beat them.the islanders played good last night, but the sabres did not look as good as they usually do.i bet practice will step up.they usually look a lot better than they did last night,what can i say they got outplayed but don't count them out and as far as the redwings go,they will win today and the rest of the series!!!go redwings

I would love to see the Isles upset the Sabre's (Bill's), but the reality is it is highly unlikely. I'm just glad they won't get swept like all the rabid Sabre's fan's predicted.Of course how about the Devils and Senators getting beat also! And look at the Thrashers - they're in deep do-do losing both home games.

I don't think this year will have a 8-1 upset. But if there is to be an 8-1 upset I think it will be the Wings. Don't get me wrong I love our team but in the past few years (since Scotty Bowman retired) they haven't been a team that does well in the playoffs. The Sabres have too much offense for the Isles. Way too much. As horrible as they played the other night they still came close to winning.

I love play-off upsets ~ especially the Flames over the Wings. Why is it always when a SEVERE underdog lands a big shot to the jaw (like Isles taking home ice away) to the heavy favorite, NO ONE gives them credit. Its always the favorite played a sloppy game blah, blah, blah. I know people watch their teams all season and know what they are capable of. I watched every Isles game this year and know what DiPi means to the team. He is a very rare goaltender that adds another dimension to the team. He handles the puck with so much skill, that opposing teams can't really make a soft change when they dump it into the zone. He conducts traffic in front and keeps defensemen's faces off the boards by always playing the puck behind the net.If Buffalo doesn't realize, respect and adjust to this, they may be sent packing in the first round.
And stop saying it was a sloppy game for Buffalo, I knew they were gonna come out blazin in the 2nd period after getting pumped by the last minute goal in the first. The Isles spent the whole period responding to everything Buffalo had and they still didnt score.
