Is this a question? If you are looking for a recap of the season I remember it well being a Jets fan for 30+years now.

It was Ken O'Brien's first year as a starter( second in the league) and he led the Jets to an 11-5 record. Unfortunately the Jets lost in the AFC wild card game to eventual AFC champions New England Patriots.( That especially stung since I was going to school in Boston at the time and had a Pats fan for a roommate.)
