"He wishes he had that one back!"?
Question:why do broadcasters say that about the goalie after a goal? wouldnt he want really want any goal back that was scored against him?
Answers:
It's usually said when it was an easy goal and could have been stopped.
The one that gets me is when someone scores and they say "Now that's a goal scorer's goal!".
Duh! He put the puck in the net, he IS a goal scorer!!
Oh well, I'm sure there's a good explantation for that one too!
Just an Excellent Article About Gary Bettman and the NHL?
Not necessarily. Some goals are the result of a spectacular play. Sure the goalie wishes he had it back, but really there would have been nothing he could have done about it anyway. They want the ones back that they just mistime or are in the wrong position for.Who would you rather have on ur team: Mats Sundin or Saku Koivu.?
MgeeHe means he wishes he had the save attempt back because it was an easy goal that should not have gone in.
In reality, a goalie would want every goal back that was scored against him, but as stated previously, there are some goals that no matter what a goalie did, he would not stop them. What announcers bascially are referring to are goals that are considered "soft" goals, such as an innocent shoot in from outside the blue line.
because his back is sore and it might have kept him from making the save
so he wishes he could have had that one instead
