Will Datsyuk win the Conn Smythe Trouphy for MVP of the playoffs? he has really stepped up but Heatly is making a strong push for it as well so what do you all think.

Well there almost no way Heatley wins the Smythe unless the Sens win the Cup.

If it's the Wings, the playoff MVP so far is Lidstrom. I'm just eyeballing this, but it seems to me that when you have a defenseman leading the team in points and in assists, he's doing a great job. Lidstrom's best contributions are often on the defensive side of the puck--he does a lot more to keep the puck out of the back of his own net than any forward could.

Great defense is one of the biggest reasons the Wings are as good as they are. Hasek has one of the best GAAs in the league and he's way past his prime. He just doesn't face that many shots, and it's due to great defense. Lidstrom in the anchor of that defense.

Lidstrom would probably get it, but I wouldnt mind seeing one of the unsung heros getting it either. Cleary has been the best player on the ice for several of the games this post season, but there is still a lot of hockey left to be played.
