Why his helmet is on his head during USA's National Anthem?

Answers:

How do i get a goals against average in hockey?

Cuz hes too old to take it off and put it back on. It'll take him hours. Btw im a redwings fan all the way.

Go Wings Go

How Cumm Habitant Soup Suxxx So Much!??

beacuse it to fricken old and european, it takes too long to undo and redo in that short of time. plus i dont think he truely respects the country that gave him his career

Canucks or ducks..who will win??

I dont know you know I noticed that also, maybe he doesn't like the National Anthem. Maybe he is a red wing and he needs to realize that they arent as good as they think.

Whats a 2005-2006 sp authentic signed cam ward rookie card worth?

Helmets and hats are not the same thing.

Who would win in a fight (hockey fight not street fight)?

Would you take your hat off during the Czech national anthem? I probably wouldn't, so I don't see a problem with him keeping his helmet on.

Why is hockey such a beasting sport?

It has nothing to do with disrepecting the ole anthem...he is mentally preparing himself before the puck drops..Hasek has always walked to a different beat...

Singing O Canada at ACC?

Helmets/hats..tomatos/tomot... but I never got the whole fracas over these issues anyway. If you want to be proud of your country and show respect by removing your lid, have at it. If you don't, then don't, especially if you are not a citizen of that country. I believe more in the freedom of choice for this.
It is probably the old fashioned helmet and the hassel of taking it off but let's face it, it doesn't take an eternity.
Maybe he doesn't agree with some of your country's policies, like electing a moron for president that starts wars on unfounded horsecrap in spite of what anyone else thinks but hey, that is for another time, another category.
When I go to a sporting event in the U.S and they play the U.S anthem, I remove my hat but I have no issue with other non-citizens that don't. Their choice. Isn't the basis of it honoring YOUR country and YOUR fallen. What does that have to do with someone who isn't one of you.
Yes, he ahs made a career/$$ in the country, but until he is a citizen, he is not an American. Your rules, not mine. Also, did you ever think that maybe some people are not interested in being an American and are proud of where they hail from.

Who is your least favorite current NHL player and what team are they on?

for one he was facing elimination in probably his last NHL game he'll ever play and hes from Pardubice, CZE so patriotism isn't as necessary

NHL All-star game in Alaska?

A lot of goalies leave their masks on during the anthem.

Hasek is not the only one.

Sabres vs Rangers-Game #3..?

Who cares? I don't take my hat off when I see the anthem on TV. So what, the guy had something on his face during a song, why does that have to necessarily be interpreted as a sign of disrespect? Its so small and trivial that I cant understand why someone would even pay attention to it.

What Are the odds that the Calgary Flames will win the Stanley Cup this year in hockey?

his helmet.

How will you celebrate the Flames' clinching a playoff spot minutes ago?

he's not the only one. its not meant to be offensive, its just what he does. not one player on the ice is all uptight about the anthem anyway they're focusing on the game ahead not susie sunshine singing about america.

i wish people would lay off dom not taking off his helmet. he's respectful enough to look up at the flag, not dance around, and he keeps his hands behind his back. seriously...get over it.

and why the question now? why not ask this question during the regular season or while the wings were playing...? you're a little late.

thanks for the points!!

Buffalo vs. Ottawa. The new Wings vs. Avs rivalry?

im from Czech Republic...but i live in America Hasek is a great goalie . one of the best

What is wrong with Rick Nash?

How many take their helmet off? I would bet if you check MOST DON'T. Anyway first of all it is done as a GENTLEMANLY sign of respect. Not part of U.S. Flag Code(which isn't a law for the record just Code of Conduct thing). Maybe Hasek isn't a gentleman? Now passing THAT idea I could go to the next step. it is PART OF HIS UNIFORM. Just like the REST OF THE PLAYERS. Watch Color Guard or any other Servicemen during the National Anthem. They DON'T remove their hat. It is part of the uniform and therefore NOT disrespectful. The hats/caps thing is meant about BALL CAPS or the old days of top hats and such. In other words hats that serve no real purpose. If it part of the uniform then it is acceptable to keep it on.
