2007 Stanley Cup ratings?

Question:will be horrible once again. The league needed a NY Rangers -Red Wings final! Everybody agree??

Answers:

Cleaning bearings?

Since the Rangers are out of the running, I can't really see where this pipe dream is coming from...

The ratings will probably be horrible because the game has been poorly marketed since the lockout. The action on the ice has vastly improved. But there are markets that have NHL teams that aren't getting to watch the playoffs! It's not always the teams, it's the delivery.

Ottawa won't help ratings either, unless the Heatley tragedy resurfaces and the Jerry Springer crowd tunes in. Unfortunaltely, Ottawa is playing a trap style defense. It's proved effective for New Jersey in the past, but it's painfully boring.

Run and gun Sabres against run and gun Ducks sounds like the most exciting match-up left.

Who deserves the Hart Trophy this year in the NHL?

Rangers and Red Wings final would of been really nice, 2 of the original 6 teams.

Red Wings vs Sabres final would get good ratings though also. Both teams with great depth and exciting young players to watch.

[edit] Pertaining to Joshua M, I agree with that. Red Wings are one of the most recognized teams in the World, next to the pinstripes of the Yankees.

255-129?

Sure, as long as my wings are in it.

What they need to do is get rid of the VS contract cause a majority of people do not have that channel, and go back to ESPN

Why does the media keep talking about Sidney Crosby so much?

Dont agree at all. Aside from NYC, Im not sure the national audience cares that much about the Rangers. I agree that the Red Wings need to be in the final because they seem like they have the most national following, but if you look at the Sabres, the ratings in Buffalo, were higher on Versus and NBC than the ratings in the NYC area. Thats amazing for a town of less than 1 million versus the NYC metro area. I think the league is praying that it does not get an Anaheim vs. Ottawa final!!

What happened to Tie Domi? (was a hockey player)?

I don't agree at all why does it always have to be big market teams, if your a true hockey fan you will watch whoever is left to fight for the cup, Go Sharks 2008

How Was the NHL started?

I think the NHL's best scenario would be Pittsburgh/Anaheim...just to get Crosby into that big L.A market and get him exposure...but I think Ottawa/Detroit would have VERY low ratings in the U.S. with Buffalo/Detroit probably being the best

Has anyone been to the verizon arena in mancherster nh?

The league needs the best two teams to play in the finals. If the New York and LA teams are not the best they should not be in the final.

Needed the Red Wings in the Final? So we can show an arena full of empty seats, I don't think so.

Who are in the nhl playoffs?

primepie FYI the sharks already lost!

GO REDWINGS!!

I need your thoughts on the Detroit Redwings so far?

According to the latest stats, the Buffalo Market, not NYC, carried the ratings to incredible heights. Maybe because there aren't as many teams here, but these Sabres folks are loyal. If the playoffs were somehow in Ralph Wilson Stadium, it would already be sold out.The Sabres sold out the whole season and of course you can't touch a playoff ticket here. The Sabres also out sold all other teams by far in terms of jerseys and NHL logo gear.
