To The Red Wings: Kyle Calder
To The Blackhawks: Jason Williams
To The Flyers: Lasse Kukkonen and a third-round pick

Who gets the best end of this deal and why?

The Red Wings probably got the best end of the deal, as long as Calder can regain his scoring touch from last season. Jason Williams has potential, but Calder has already proven he can be a 20-30 goal scorer.

Pre game rituals?

I think that the Blackhawks got the best end. Williams is a good forward that can score goals. Kyle Calder wasn't a bad pickup for the Wings, but he hasn't done much this season, but maybe he needs a change of scenery. The Flyers got nothing but another draft pick, which means this draft the Flyers are going to have like every other pick.

How come New York Ranger fans think that the Rangers are gonna win?

i think the flyers got the best deal, kukkonen and a draft pick. the flyers need to get speedy defensemen, once nittymaki gets some support the flyers will be back in contention next year of course. still waiting for the flyers to send hatcher to another team for future considerations

Will Jeremy Jacobs ever sell the Boston Bruins?

You can't really say right now because we have to wait and see a few years as is the case with most trades. What if that 3rd rounder the Flyers get ends up being the best of the bunch? It is often said that the team that gets the best player wins, in that case, it is Detroit. That said:

The Flyers. They get rid of that useless Calder (was useless for Philly anyway) that is an impending UFA. I am not sure of Williams contract but he is an OK player, Flyers aren't going anywhere anyway so why not stock up on draft picks. All this is moot if the Wings win the cup and Calder helps at all, then the Wings win.

Who do you think has the best/worst announcers?

No clearcut winner in this deal yet. The Wings got an underachieving forward, gave up one that is playing below his ability and the Flyers get an unproven kid and a 3rd rounder (could be a great pick, most likely a career minor leaguer). Calder has the most incentive to pick up his game (he can revive his scorer role on the Wings, they are looking for a 2nd line scorer and he did pot 26 goals last year), Williams can score but remember that Babcock was his biggest supporter and gave him the chance to produce much more so than a lot of coaches would (he coached him at Cinncinnati of the AHL and liked him then). Kukkonen is a speedy defenseman, any speed on the back line for Philly cant be any worse than the turtles they have now (maybe there is hope for Clarke, big Broadstreet bully types cant play todays game).

Did Pittsburgh fans really boo the Canadian national anthem?

The Blackhawks. I can't believe the Wings gave up on Jason Williams so quickly.

Can the Isles make it to the playoffs just by making it to OT?

At first glance it seems the Redwings lost out. They were suppose to trade up for a big power forward. They got a regular 5'11 under achieving 2.95 mil player. What happened there? Where's the big 6"3 or 6"2 player? Does the locker room have low head room??

The first hockey player to make a million per year?

The Flyers get the best of the deal, long term. They add a piece that makes Hatcher look EVEN slower and they continue to pile up draft picks.

Calder is Cleary with a snarl and Williams is Lapointe without the snarl.

Have any PROFESSIONAL hockey players died on the ice?

Probably the Flyers, depending on what they do with the pick. If Calder picks up his game and the Wings re-sign him to a more cap-friendly deal, they do. If Williams takes off the Blackhawks do, although I doubt he will.

Countdown to go time...?

blackhawks won on this one williams has more upside then any of the other players he just needs more consitant ice time

How much is worth patrick roy 1989 opeechee card? 2 cards?

Jason Williams did not live up to his potential this season after a great season last year. He's pretty moody to boot. I don't think that anyone going TO the Wings is in bad shape. Great team.

Sabres Fans are you ready to say Uncle?

The blackhawks...Williams is a solid 2-way player.
Just don't put him on the frickin' point for powerplays like the wings did...

How bout them Ducks?

Thank God as a Hawks fan that Kukkonen is gone! He is a nice skater, but cannot put the puck in the net. I am excited to see Jason Williams join the Hawks! Now, if only we could have actually gotten value for Smolinski (draft picks do nothing for the Hawks ever!)..

Who do you think is the strongest NHL fighter?

I say its a tie between the Wings and Flyers. Calder will be inserted as a top 6 forward, which instantly will jumpstart his game (and his +/-) Kukkonen is a fairly young puck moving d-man so an excellent PP addition and the third round pick will help too. I think the blackhawks will prob use Williams to replace Smolinski, but I believe this was more of a cap move, so they can build around Havlat.

What 2 teams do you think are going to make it to the Stanley Cup finals?

Flyers, Kukkonen is an excellent d-man and the other 2 players are average.
