I think "good for her". Some of my best students are girls. Martial Arts are even more important for girls/women than they are for boys/min since they are inherently more vulnerable.A girl that takes Karate is athletic, strong, and mature as long as she is doing it the right way.

Great! More girls should consider taking self defense or martial arts courses.Honestly, when I first started karate three and a half years ago, most of the guys at the dojo went easy on me-more so than my male counterparts, even those who were a lower rank than I was. This made me so upset that I made a promise to myself to change their minds. Unfortunately, some of the more pig-headed of the boys and men I encounter still think I am weak (until they spar me that is!)
