Forrest Griffin From the "UFC" it he marred?

Boxing was designed, then refined over the years to allow the fighter to take as much punishment as possible without going down. The heavy gloves do play a part, but there is also a lot going on in the corner that doesn't always show up on the camera. There are dozens of trainer tricks to keep a boxer going. Boxing is more dangerous for these reasons.

Also, I wish that people would stop using the example that nobody has been seriously injured in MMA. That isn't really true. There have been no reported fatalities, but there will be. It is only a matter of time, so I think those who are involved in MMA and want to help it grow should prepare for this.

Is it possibile to...?

I have been a fan of boxing for 20 yrs, and MMA for 10 yrs. I love boxing, but I must agree that it is more dangerous. I believe you are better off getting KO d with one quick kick, than surviving a 12 round fight and receiving 200 punches to the head. The accumulation can be very dangerous, and thats why you have seen a few deaths in boxing. (and thats also a reason why people have been fighting for years to get head gear in boxing, but I do not think it will ever happen)

MMA only appears to be more dangerous with the kicks, and light gloves. But its only an illusion.

Does anyone know who Danny Oleary "iceman" is?

am going to say mma fight only if you fight for one time you could break your arm or leg anything could get broke. and elbows and knee cuts you open quicker and easyer but if you did boxing all your life or mma all your life your going to get more damage from boxing but it would be close but boxing is more dangerous to your body in the long run

Which karate gi brand is better?

I have to agree. Those thicker gloves help to stop K.O.'s so you keep getting a heap of blows to the head. So "long term" it is way more damaging then mma. You could come of worse at the end of a fight (not long term) if you get kicked by "cro cop" Or get a flood of elbows by Tito.
In MMA a lot of fights are stopped by submissions without actually hurting anyone. They have the choice either your arm gets broken or you tap. So the normal person will tap. With only their pride hurt.
Plus UFC the best ref in the business Big John Mcarthy who seems to know exactly when to stop fights and doesnt mind diving in to protect fighters.

Who would win in a fight, king kong, or the ape from Rampage?

boxing.

What is the cause of the fight between Frank and Ken Shamrock, why they don't talk each other anymore?

Well, it depends on what you define as "dangerous" If you mean potentially life threatining circumstances, then boxing is definately more dangerous than REGULATED MMA. I specify regulated because the non-regulated fights are extremely dangerous and fighters aren't looked over in the same way as they are in regulated fights. In boxing, you dance around with your opponent and take punches to the head for 3 minutes at a time and the only way to win is to beat your opponent into unconciousness.

On the flip side in MMA, you can win by KO or TKO, or by submission. Technically, a fight can be won by a fighter without either fighter getting hit in the face. Also, KO's and TKO's are usually called much faster in MMA than in Boxing. I've seen knockdowns in boxing that would lead to the end of the match in MMA, but in boxing, the fighter beats the 10 count, only to get knocked down again 15 seconds later. Those kind of situations are where people get seriously injured.

What is wrong with people dont they understand BJJ os not a self defence style?

This is so easy. The point of boxing is literally to beat each others brains in. MMA has more attacks on other parts. I would take an armbar or a cut from an elbow than a brain injury. Lets ask some Gracies who are 100 years old and still fine or Muhammad Ali? What would there answers be. Hmmm

When is mma fighter david tank abbott fighting next?

Well I do want to actually correct you first. There have been injuries in mma that have ended a fighters career after the match. Check out the book "Brawl" by Erich Krauss. But boxing has had injuries that have actually led to the death of fighters. The constant head trauma is much worse than the damage that comes from a ufc fight. People also don't usually realize that boxing gloves aren't mad to soften the blow to the opponent but rather protect the punchers hand. MMA's gloves are also much lighter and smaller to help with knockouts which in results in less trauma to the head. One swift blow is much less damaging then 50 meidcore hits.

MMA Fighter Nick Diaz fails drug test. Should he be suspended?

The contrary would actually be true. MMA is more dangerous in the respect that more fatalities and immediate injuries occur. But in the long run, boxers definitely experience harshest effects more consistantly.

Street fight reality realized?

Boxing is hard on your head & brain, MMA is hard on your limbs & joints.

Tatami mats?

Boxing is definatly more dangerous you take more head shots and when you go down after being KO'd, if you recover quickly enough they stand you back up, this can happen several times in a fight, just look at past stars, you don't hear Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, or any other fighter from the beginning of MMA talking like they are drunk because they've taken to many blows to the dome.

Know any ninjitsu schools near Horseheads, NY?

There have been more deaths in boxing, and the fights are longer. There is also a disdain in boxing for the fighter to throw in the towel, so they usually fight until the end or drop from a KO. This means you have multiple rounds of punching directly to the head, with the ref only stopping on a knockout.
As you can see, this leads to a much more dangerous scenario.
I would say boxing is more dangerous.

What is Kung Fu? Do they use weapons? Is it better than karate?

The most serious injury ever to occur in sanctioned MMA matches are broken arms, noses, ribs etc.. And no fatalities.

As far as Boxing oges. In Vegas alone there are a dozen or so deaths. Some boxers get KO'd and never wake up. Then die shortly after.

So MMA may have a wider variety of injuries and they may even occur more freaquently. Bu no one has ever died or suffere brain damage.
Dozens of boxers all over the world die every year and more end up with seveer brain damage.
Listen to Matt, Hughes do an interview with 50 pro fights he is articulate and intelegent. Or Jeremy Horn 100 pro fights, healthy intelegent no brain damage etc...

Now listen to most boxers with only 20 pro fights. And remember by time they go pro they've already had a ton of amature fights.

Boxing is defenatly more dangerous.

Who would win this fight: a Samurai warrior, or a Ninja?

They are both equally dangerous. In any contact sport there is the chance of serious injuries or death. A lot of people feel that boxing is the more dangerous because its purely striking and chances for a knockout are higher then in mma. the thing with mma is the use of submissions. i train mma and in a fight i would rather be knocked out then submitted any day of the week. What people fail to realize is that submissions are designed to disable your opponent not just incapacitate them by breaking their extremities or suffocating them with chokes.

What does this teach?

it was proven that boxer all show forms of brain damage after only 4 to 5 fights MMa fights make look roungher but there actually safer the main reaisn is the way they call fights you seldom see a MMa fight result in atrue knockout it is sually stopped by the referee before a guy actually gets knocked out cold where in boxing you can be knowcked down and get up and knocekd down again so fourth boxing lets fighters continue to be hit after they are knocked down

Is Brock Lesnar going to fight at K-1 Hero's this February?

Boxing is a more dangeros sport in terms of perminent effects and death. Boxers take a lot more shots during a given fight, they repeatedly take shot after shot and the short term and long term effects can be very damaging. While in MMA you can easily suffer different injuries, broken bones and such the fighters tend to take a lot less shots then in a boxing match. Also, in MMA the fights are stopped a lot quicker then in boxing. In boxing a fighter can be taking a beating but still keep going and this has numerous long term effects. Look at the number of boxers who have suffered long term side effects as a result of the numerous blows to the head. MMA is to young to know if there are such long term effects but it will probably be less then n boxers.
