Third degree black belt.Where did tje martial art Ikito originate? And I'd like info on it.?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/tekki_sanda...it has a variety of meanings, one example is in Aikido which means a third degree blackbelt.
In the Korean Martial Arts, it is often referred to as a number for a form or kata (some times called Sam Dan) example: Pyung ahn Sam Dan, roughly meaning: advanced form number 3
it's mostly based off the Chinese word for the number three, but it depends largely on the way a person was taught how to say it in their Martial Arts discipline.
Do you mean San Da? If so it's also known as San Shou. It's Chinese kickboxing with throws. It's a very good style to learn.

Sandan is Japanese for 3rd Dan - the third level of promotion after a black belt is first obtained. Black belt ranking systems often rank up to 10th Dan, with 10th Dan being the best. However promotions above 5th Dan are usually for political reasons or services to the organisation who issues dan grades. Here are all ten dan grades in japanese:
Shodan - 1st dan
Nidan - 2th dan
Sandan - 3th dan
Yodan - 4th dan
Godan - 5th dan
Rokudan - 6th dan
Shichidan - 7th dan
Hachidan - 8th dan
Kudan - 9th dan
Judan - 10th dan
Some organisations such as the jitsu foundation only offer ranks up to 3rd Dan as they believe any higher ranks are superfluous.
