Who was Hua Yuan Jia?

For all those people who say think of the children... Ask how many of them let their kids watch WWE or hockey or boxing or take them every week to Karate class. If your kids are watching any of these sports they are just as likely or more likely to go hurt someone. It's up to you the parent to teach them it's a sport and they should never try to do anything they see on TV. I let my kids watch UFC before I let them watch WWE. Look at the language they use in WWE now.

Hapkido vs Karate?

Yes, I think it's crazy, what kind of example are we setting for our children, the next generation?

Guess what? I don't let my kids watch it. But some other irresponsible parents do and what is that telling them? If they are that talented tell them to do something more positive with their talent. Yea, it takes a whole lot of talent to beat someone up sounds like it takes a whole lot more stupidity to me.

Has anyone ever heard of Turkish Jiu Jitsu? Is it better than Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

Why do boxing loyalist like Jim Lampley hate MMA and whats more entertaining boxing or MMA?

From what I've seen it isn't anywehre near as rough as other forums. In UFC they still use gloves and no weapons. Before I retired from fighting I fought in tournaments where there were no gloves, and where there were weapons categories as well. This was TRUE full contact fighting, not the watered down, diluted NEW AGE, WARM FUZZY, FLUFFY BUNNY kind of competitions that are seen now. Competitions like the UFC and its imitators just don't measure up. It isn't even close to being as barbaric as its detractors try to portray. They only claim its barbaric becasue they want to eliminate the practice of the fighting arts all together so that everyone will be as helpless as these detractors already are and want everyone else to be.

Who won in ufc between chuck liddell vs. tito ortiz?

its kinda like wrestling, mostly fake but fairly violent even so, maybe more like regular boxing, but still kinda corny. There should be less rules, like in the old van dam movies like lionheart and all.

Iam write an essay comparing George St.Pierre and Matt hughes.?

Based on the two fights I have seen, It seems really gay.
Half the time the two guys were just hugging and 1/4 of that was staring at each other and the remaing 1/4 was on ground "grappling".

If anything, I would say UFC isn't violent enough.

there's hardly any actual fighting there and too little coverage on the "fighters", if you can call them that.

Very Gay.

For all you balck belts in taekwondo?

UFC, Barbaric? Hah..
The UFC while being a new show for the masses is far from a bloodsport. The fact of the matter is the only time that its bloody is when someone is either using elbows or, swinging like there arms are baseball bats and in all honesty there are way to many rules for it to get that X rating.
There have been no deaths in the UFC, in fact there haven't even been any life changing injuries either. If you want to see true bloodsport your better off watchin a vale tudo fight.
The only reason why people are complaining is because it is threatening to usurp boxing as the brutal competition to watch.
There's no Biting, No Eye Gouging, No Slams To The Head, No Groin Shots I hate to tell you but UFC is just not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, maybe if the ratings drop an Zuffa decides that blood has to be a part of every match, then we might have some thunder dome action but until then just grab your beer, obey man law an remember, fighting with rules is not fighting

American KickBoxer?

These guys are mostly friends and train together.
They compete as two guys who play basketball together would - only the game involves some headbreaking. That's their choice.

What is the longest/largest sword that has a style behind it?

UFC as barbaric, perhaps, but no more so than football, hockey, rugby, etc etc .
This past weekend an NFL player had to have his spleen removed, two ribs broken and suffered dehydration. Is this not barbaric? So, yes UFC is a rough sport but most sports all.
Of course if you look at world events don't you think people behave barbarically.

As far as people that do not like it, turn the channel. The same applies with any entertainment coming into your house, if you don't approve do not watch. However don't presume to tell others they should not watch. This a censorship issue. I wonder if these people do not let their children watch the news as it may contain disturbing information?

What does UFC teach children? I feel it teaches them that fighting can be brutal, painful and ugly. This is a good lesson for children to learn. Perhaps it will inspire them to train.Statistically, one day someone is going to confront them in a physical manner, wouldn't that experience be better handled if they had a little training. People cannot tune violence out and pretend it doesn't happen, because it is a fact of life and if it is not dealt with in a proactive fashion than surely it will not be handled correctly in a moment of desperate application.

Can I beat up a female black belt?

i second what spidertig said

Will there be any title fights at UFC 68 in March?

I am a pastor and a MMA fighter. I was asked by some of my church members one time "Can't you pick a less barbaric sport?". My reply was this.

"Some of you put a live worm on a hook and throw it into the water. When a fish swims by, you snag it and pull it out of its living environment by its lip. If its not big enough you throw it back. Some of you sit silently and wait for an unsuspecting animal to walk by and then you blow a hole through it's heart with a high powered rifle. At least my prey knows I'm coming for him. He can back out at any time, and he can fight back." They haven't said a word since.

Just to be clear, I am not against fishing and hunting.

How come UFC fans don't order Pride events?

All of these answers are way to complicated
I love to watch UFC and I let my 3 kids(5,7,9) watch it too
they take tae kwon do they spar every Friday with
all of the other kids and I have to say that I believe that
watching the UFC gives them some idea of what to do if someone attacked them
you have to realize that these UFC fighters train in atleast
3 different ways of fighting and they work really hard
its their job to be fit and to kick butt
the ref is there so if anyone cannot defend themselves
the ref will stop it immediatly
everyone just realize UFC is far more interesting to watch
then a boxing match
