the best thing to do is to study an art that will help in your "standing game" ie kicks, punches, and defenses and then to study another that will teach you the "ground fighting" techniques in the chance that you encounter a fight that may end up on the ground. but I would reccomend more learning in a class setting and then buying books to further try techniques that you'll find useful later.
