I have a TKD forms tournament tomorrow and i'm nervous! What can keep me from being so nervous?

I get really nervous doing form/pattern and i forget the movements. What is something that can keep my nerves down, and keep me form messing up?

Does anyone think Nakamura was stupid to remove his gi when he was fighting Silva?

Move a lot. Jump around and act like the crowd loves you. Be confident in yourself and just relax your muscles. When you are doing your forms, just act like your in class or by yourself...remember that the judges like to see confidence and good technique...Good Luck!

UFC question (if you watched tonight's fight)?

Try to focus your mind and to breath deep breaths, i would recommend that you start to take yoga as well, This will help you to be calm, and flexible two things you need to win any fight. I have e taken Tie Chi, TKD, and Jujitsu. But nothing helped me with my nerves like yoga. By the way my grades went up to do to being able to focus better and knowing how to calm my nerves. I hope this helps and Good luck!

Choke hold/Passing out?

Just let it flow, forget about everybody watching and that your in a tournment, think about it as if your just doing it by yourself, block out everybody else, think about nothing but the form

You have a forms tournament?
Lucky you!
I have a forms, point sparring and continuos sparring tournament tomorrow and I am more worried about being bashed than forgetting a few moves in my form!

Penchak Silat Classes?

Practice, practice and practice until you no longer forget your form. How can you possibly enter a tournament unprepared? Being nervous is partly due to poor "mental mechanics" which in your case it is not helped by not knowing your form. You should be able to perform it flawlessly without thinking...if you think you lose! To be in the "zone" requires being on "automatic!"

How can I get a ticket to UFC 68 in March?

Just take deep breaths and review your form in your head. When you're preforming it DO NOT RUSH!!! make every move as perfect as you can . If you look more concentrated on the form the judges will be sure to notice you. But also realize, once it's done it's done and if you don't do perfectly it's not the end of the world. That might help to calm some nervs.

That said, Good Luck!!!I haven't competed in a long time, and I miss it!

Where is the best place to learn MMA(Mixed Martial Arts)and close to West Acton?

'Nothing is as bad as thinking makes it so' Hamlet I think but not here to teach you English lit, my advice would be to remember that in martial arts we train the mind as well as the body. Control of anger; 'temporary' ignoring pain; showing respect to someone that we have just fought. Its all part of the game, you will come out the otherside a better person for it. Good Luck

Muhammed Ali versus Bruce Lee !?!?!?!?

remember that your sabomnim (instructor) has not asked you to do anything you have not been trained to do. what you will do tommorow you have done countless times in the dojang without fault-you can do the same tomorrow. when you walk onto the mats imagine you are in a training session-take a deep breath exhale slowly and say to yourself "no problem i have done this before and i can do this now". as i tell my own students-as long as you say you can't-then you won't. when you start saying "i can"-then you will-now go and enjoy the day.
