Wanderlei Silva called out Chuck Liddel in Vegas, where's Chuck??
I keep hearing and reading about this and that about this fight up to this point. But still no word or comment about this. I watched it on PPV. Wanderlei Silva is fighting in Vegas in Feb. for the title and called out Chuck. I commented before that the UFC is dodging Pride fighters and now I think the proof is more evident. Tim Silvia was offer a fight with Pride's heavyweight champ FEDOR but said no. It sucks for all fans that the UFC won't comment about these things. Chuck only talks about Tito and blah blah blah. I am a Pride fan first and I'm only proven right by the actions of the UFC. These fight cards are getting really BAD !! Two champs have fallen like I knew they would .Silva and GSP cleaned house. Now it's time for the light heavyweight and heavyweight champs to hand over their belts. Is a coincidence that the two champs left won't comment on Pride calling them out?? Come on guys,don't fool yourselves. You UFC fans should be livid at what you have been paying for. Shameful

Then I read an article stating that the reason the fight didn't happen was because Wanderlei Silva lost one of his most recent matches big time! Because of that, UFC President stated that he didn't think Silva would be a draw anymore. (I think he's wrong, as it seems you do as well.)
As for the FEDOR / Tim Silvia situation, according to the same article it was stated that Pride wanted to host the fight but it was in the same timeframe that Silvia was defending his title on a UFC PPV card, so "he couldn't be expected to fight twice in the same month".
Personally, I'd LOVE to see some fights cross lines between the different organizations. Unfortunately, PPV Martial Arts events are big things nowadays, and as long as the bucks keep rolling in, there's no reason for any organization to cross that line to the other side.
We can only hope that it happens someday.

I was watching a show a couple of nights ago, and that homo Joe Rogan asked Dana White about this very same thing, although he didn't mention any names (they both sort of giggled like little girls, though...). Anyway, White said that he's been trying to make it happen, but... IN 2007 AND 2008, THE FANS WILL GET TO SEE THE MATCH-UPS THEY'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! That's what he said, pointing out that that meant cross-promotional math-ups especially.I tend to like Pride a little more than UFC, but I think Dana White is an honest guy. I think he knows that his pond is starting to shrink, and his fighters won't be able to dodge true challengers if the organization is to survive. Let's face it- who's going to pay to watch a "World" champion that only fights the same 5 or 6 guys from the organization's stable of sometimes-mediocre fighters? I hope both Pride and UFC make it happen...

Its because of licensing issues and the way UFC and Pride will split the profit. Wanderlei's loss against Crocop was a light heavyweight vs heavy weight fight, so it isn't like wanderlei lost his title.What are all of the different elements to fighting ?

Okay your facts are totally off. Chuck wants to fight Wenderlai. He entered a Pride tournament to do exactly that, but lost to Rampage Jackson along the way. Sylvia wants to fight Fedor, he has said so in a number of interviews. These fights haven't happened because Pride and UFC can't come up with a contract that will make everyone happy. There are money issues with the fighters, PPV profit sharing issues with the organizations, and Rules/Ring/Cage disputes as well. All of these fighters want these fights to go down, they don't duck opponents. You are obviously a Pride fan first, but don't knock the UFC, the last Pride PPV sucked! And why is Fedor fighting Mark Hunt in this year's Shockwave? I for one will be buying both Pride and UFC's December events... and we'll see who puts together the better show. Pride has a great lineup, but depending on the matchups, could prove disappointing.I want to learn snake kung fu.?
Chuck was supposed to fight Silva, but Silva lost to Crocop and the deal was that Chuck and Silva were supposed to win their matches, Chuck beat Babalu. We'll see after the Chuck and Tito rematch. Like someone said here, Chuck was trying to get to Silva but lost to Rampage. The UFC is trying to get the best fighters from all over, especially Pride, so they arent scared . I read in mmaweekly.com that the UFC is trying to get Crocop.Dana White addressed this earlier in interviews. The president of Pride and Dana could not come to contractual agreements for the Nov 06 event that they were planning. Dana touched on the subject in last week's premiere of Inside the UFC and stated that in late 07 and in 08, we (the fans) would see who is the champ of all champs, not just who was the champ of the UFC. He was not specific with names or an exact date, but did say differences had been worked out.

Its not as easy as it sounds. These guys have contractual obligations to there particular orginizations and its as simple as that. Plus under who rules do they fight under? Thr UFC has nothing to gain in that fight because Chuck is there bread and butter, he's the face of the UFC and a loss would hurt there reputation, there rep already took a beating when Ace Franklin got embarassed by a so so Pride fighter.
