How do you think the UFC matches up against Pride, now that the UFC has raided their roster,?
I thought The UFC had the edge before. Now they have Cro Cop and Jackson. The only thing that Pride has is a better heavyweight champion. That will change when Cro Cop takes the UFC title. I'm sick of hearing about the ax murderer Silva.He lost to a lot of people.Ortiz, Cro Cop, Vitor, so I'm not that impressed, and when is the last time he defended that title of his? So I say the UFC CRUSHES Pride. Thank you

Obviously Dana White is doing big things in the UFC and their popularity with fans has skyrocketed. With this popularity comes money. It's almost inevitable that Pride fighting will lose many of its top fighter to the lure of the almighty dollar that the UFC can offer them. I'm almost positive that a UFC contract is far more lucrative than a Pride contract, not to mention the endorsements and possible acting gigs (e.g. chuck lidell) that may also come their way.Personally I find the UFC more entertaining only because I am familiar with the fighters and the continual stop and start in pride fighting because fighters get too close to the edge of the ring can be a real blower. However the fact that Pride fighting came out of Japan they didn't have to conform to the stricter rules that UFC has to contend with here in the USA. For example in Pride fighters are allowed to knee an opponent in the top of the head while the opponent is on the ground. It makes for a more brutal fight and let's face it, that makes it exciting.
Bottom line for me: UFC all the way!

Pride's only real advantage was the heavyweight class. Cro cop will balance that out some. Pride is probably going to lose more top fighters, because they lost their tv contract in Japan.Can anyone tell me that what are the name of these weapons...?
Wrong. I don't know how you can say that when Anderson SIlva was 1W-2L in Pride fighting then immdediately came over and humiliated the UFC champion Rich "Ace" Franklin. Plus the last time Liddell was beaten was by Rampage who is an awesome fighter, but was probably only the 4th or 5th fighter over there and that fight was'nt even that close. It's not that the UFC doe'snt have great fighters it's just that it's not that competitive. They had no one that can compete with Liddell until now, and they have no one that can compete with Sylvia. In Pride they got a whole bunch of guys who can compete with those guys. Gomi at 155lbs. and Dan Henderson at 185lb. might be the two best pound for pound fighters in MMA. Although I think the UFC is just as good at the top, I would say from top to bottom Pride is a little better. I've been watching UFC since I was a kid, so I'm not biased that's just the way I feel. The only division I thinkUFC is clearly better then Pride is the 170lbs. with Hughes, St.Pieere, Penn, Nightmare Sanchez, Karo, Pitbull kid, but othe then that Pride is all around better. You seem to be forgetting about a lot of fighters in Pride though.Also, not a Silva fan but he's amazing. Lost to Cro Cop, Arona, and Hunt recently, all top fighters (I think Hunt got lucky on that decision too). Beat a lot of fighters, Jackson twice (brutally).
UFC has GSP (amazing), Chuck (faired decent in Pride), and now Cro Cop (love him but Fedor is better)...
With people like Misaki, Gomi, Fedor, Aleksander, Kharitonov, Nog, Barnett, Henderson, Wandy, Shogun, Filho, Arona, Hunt, Werdum, I don't see Pride having problems claiming the depth that the UFC currently doesn't have.
UFC is making some moves but it'll take a bit before they can be competitive.
Also I'm curious how much Pride you've actually watched. And was TUF your introduction into MMA?
