Free-standing vs hanging bags for kids?

Any preferences? I have two young sons, both very enthustiastic about their martial arts training. I have the option of either a freestanding (Wavemaster) or a hanging bag. Any reason to choose one over the other?

They do make smaller wave masters just for kids. If you want to get one, buy the small version.

i would choose the standing bag. some people think it is easy to knock down, but actually, it can weigh up to 170lbs. there are two problems with a hanging bag. one, is that it is hard to find a place to hang it, and if you get the hanging bag with a stand, it limmits your movement around the bag. i highly suggest getting a standing bag.

Why is it so hard to find someone to teach Chinese martial arts?

I have had both types and I prefer the freestanding bag over the hanging bag. I feel it's safer and offers quick height adjustments.
