Does anyone think Nakamura was stupid to remove his gi when he was fighting Silva?

This happened to me when i first started sparring. My first ever sparring match in class(12 years old, in the adult class), the dude got way to pumped up and busted my nose, like, really bad. blood spewed from my nose, scared the bejeebies out of me. He got his rank stripped and three ribs broken from a black belt who saw what happened. He left, but for about a month after that happened i would be shaking from head to toe before i got in the ring with anyone(including little kids!!) My instructor finally realized how scared i was and got a few black belts to coach me along for qa couple classes until i got my confidence back.

Tell your instructor what you're feeling before you spar. If He/She is worth anything they can at least give you some advice or extra drills or a more advanced student can coach you for a couple classes to help build your self-confidence. A scared fighter is dangerous to herself and to her partner, so ask for help before you set any bad habits based on your fear!

When I spar (im a 3rd degree black belt) I get very tired and slightly nervous. Just think about how wimpy this person is compared to you and that u can so kick their a**. I know that is quite mean but it really helped me calm down. You dont have to dislike the person either. It just gives you a little bit of a confidence boost. Hope this helped.

My husband and 3 of my kids take tae kwon do. I watch them all the time. Just remember your technique when you go in the ring and concentrate on planting your kicks and punches where they will count. Good luck!

Self talk is often helpfull. Keep telling yourself that you can handle things.

Is there any MMA fighter that learn capoeira martial art?

first of all just remember that when you are sparring you are not in there to hurt the other person and they are not in there to hurt you.

the reason that you are nervous is because of the adrenaline rush. there is nothing really you can do to stop it.

however you can use to help. i feed off the rush and the energy

keep reminding yourself not to get tunnel vision and to remember to mix your moves up and you will do fine.

The feeling we call nervous can be benificial in the ring, it heightens our sence of awareness, and reaction time. So embrace the feeling and feed off of its force.

I also used to get nervous about sparring, but the more you do it the more you will feel confident in your abilities. You may want to try sparring with someone you are comfortable with and do some light contact sparring.

What's the difference in tae kwon do and kung fu?

I am a fifth degree kickboxer (thats like a blackbelt in most martial arts) and i spar all the time in tournies. Psychological preparation is equally important as the physical training. Weeks before your sparring, visualize how you'll win, the moves you'll make. Basically, think of all the positive things that can happen to you in the ring. Combine it with training and I'm sure you'll do good! good luck in your promotion! :-)

What is a good kicking and rapid striking martial arts?

Mushin, when I was sparring I would meditate, concentrate on nothing but your body. Become aware of every part of your body from each toe up. Feel the energy. Create visuals in your mind of opponent striking you blocking, returning perfect strikes, nothing hits you, every strike you make is perfect. This was my method, and worked great for me. Everyone has to find their own way to Mind of No Mind.

Do you have a black belt like I do?

i too am nervous for sparring..not that i get beat up..its just that i always target the head...and whats worse that it hits.90% of the time...many people regard me that i could do great in sparring..but the only thing that keeps me from winning is my conscience..(its stupid)

----but i have found some ways to deal with it:

*when your in the ring..your not fighting to win, your fighting for your life.--although it may seem extreme..i always think of this when i do competition sparring since if you dont hit him he will hit you

-----there are no friends in the ring-----when your in the ring..your there to fight..dont consider the person as your friend for a while since it will only affect your performance..

When ground fighting what is your best defense/offense.?

The point of sparring is to get your mind used to taking strikes, most humans when striken freeze, so the idea is getting used to applying what you have learned about strikes, and blocks while conditioning your mind to keep going when a strike does land. If you fight you may get hit, it is just the odds of the game. Keep your eyes open and do not focus on your opponents limbs but on an overall view of your opponents body so that you may see all of him/her. Your periphrial vision will help you to react faster too.
remember to breath, and good luck.
