the Olympics today have so many more sports, regulations, participants, countries and meanings that it wouldnt be fair to compare it to the ancient greek ones..
The idea, is the same.. having a period of time to test the limits of men ( and women ), because thats what real sports were supposed to be. If it was as speed, strength, or simply a simulated battle.. I love watching sports that go back to those times.. becasue you can logically see their origin
like swimming, running, throws, jumping.. all of them are so elemental that I can see how they began
