What is the Olympic Super-G?
I know its skiing but I need to know all the minor descriptions so that I can write an in-depth paragraph about it.
Answers:
If I read the rules correctly, in GS, the gates have to be at least 10m apart. In Super-G they must be at least 25 meters apart.
A GS the vertical drop is 250-450 meters, in Super-G 500-600 meters.
In GS, you take 15% of the vertical drop to compute the number of gates, i.e. 300 m drop, 45 gates. In Super-G its 10%.
You can read the rules here: http://www.fis-ski.com/data/document/icr...
