it's going to cause a huge increase in our tourism long after the event hopefully and will boost the economy immensely and ecourage more people to take part in sport which is vital seeing as we are now a very overweight nation on the whole. How do I get in the olympics so I can be with the swimming team?
Staging the Olympics usually means that that country has wonderful sporting facilities for decades after the games are over as well as a big rise in tourism. Australia has, per capita, some of the best sporting people in the world and this is due in a large part to the fact that we have lots or great sporting venues as a result of Olympic and Commonwealth games being held here.As others have replied but most of all we use the Olympics to benefit otherwise neglected areas of course the Olympics cost but you must think the jobs it will create and but not least we who have been in athletics for many years as officials finally maybe get the highest honour of all officiating at an Olympics so all the young athletes leagues men's leagues etc may just may not have been in vain
