I think the US will still emerge over all winners. It has well developed sports system anywhere in the world. China is still emerging. But I'd say they are not too far behind judging by their performance in the last Olympics. They are not challenging in major Olympic events that the US used to dominate such as diving, athletics, etc.The Chinese may win the first gold medal though.
